hey there my friend how are you?
You know, if one day you have the time, it would be really nice you could write a lill piece in your journal (adding a few pictures as you go) and tell us a bit about how you're working! Cause it's intriguing. Since it looks you're not working with brushes, like sitting in front of a tiny lill canvas like me but your pieces are much bigger. Plus you've got technical knowledge. You do something I don't know. (always intriguing when that happens.. ) You put layers over the canvasses?/boards? to prep them.
I would love it if you could explain a little bit of what you do, and HOW you do it!
Or you could film some stuff put it on youtube if you're not feeling like writing?

OK Lou this is for you... I prepare bathroom grade "Luan" panel (1/4 thk) from 8' x 4' sheets by scoring with matt knife and cracking (beeee careful not to cut your fingers!!!) this is difficult... then clean up the edges with sure form tool... seal edges with outdoor wood filler thinned with water round off surface edges with fine sand paper before applying treatments.. some warping occurs on both small & larger works... backing stiffing solves the prob
Prepare both sides with Zinnser Primer - then on surface i rub in thickness with my fingers (2-4 layers) to create relief of surface this provides each panel with unique surface quality... i can tell by feeling the plasticity as primer is drying during rubbing to get the visual affect of the under surface in preparation (use super tight fitting latex gloves - some materials are caustic)
back ground is started - Search "Getting Started" images in gallery search for the first images to get the clues to my process... Look closely to see reflective quality of mica in back ground
The images that follow describe my self learned (wet edge)technique... I have done this process to create (analogous) paintings in series to provide my self an original concept of each group of paintings to be used as reference for future works... larger works will follow as i sell originals in series of works to provide the funds required to access the larger amounts of materials to create more paintings
A simple process but it consumes a huge amount of time
The paintings should last till we hear the Horns blow!!! (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18) Freaky but true
Images in my gallery do not display original effects of relief of materials... oh well!!!
I'm going to California for a month to work following the latest ship design work completed and get in some waves in Cardiff with the "Mayer" of the San Diego surfing scene (Big Bill Hupp)... what a bummer tog go to socal to work an surf for a month... NOT!!!!!
Take care while i gone an say howdy to all yer special friends up der in Canada

so, what I found out.. if you go to your *deviation* folder, br0wse gallery* and then see on the top it says *EDIT* it allows you - on the left - to make different folders.. You can have one for photography, or finished works, or drawings, acrylics, oils, detail, whatever.. veRy handy
