I find life has a habit of throwing things at us that use up a lot of time and attention. I'm currently focusing on job hunting again as my Teaching Assistant contract is about to run out

When I left high school (16 - at the time that was the age kids in the UK had to be before they could leave formal education, I believe now it's gone up to 17 or 18) I remember being absolutely petrified of having to get a job. I was far more confident and comfortable going to college (17-18) and then University (19-21) before my confidence in the workplace picked up. The thought terrified me, it was only when I felt I had no other choice and nothing else to focus on that I finally pushed myself - I'm one of those irritating people who's gotta want to do it, no one else is gonna force me into doing it. It's gotta be my decision. I must have been a right pain for my parents

Hope you manage to find a small job for yourself sooner rather than later, will be great getting to earn your own money and become more independent

I had went to a prep school, and it actually wasnt too difficult, what im worried most is PAYing for college heheh...
i didnt get a job uwu' my parents actually asked me to help out at home more. I had to watch my grandpa during days when they worked, and baby sit my bro as well. But thats fine with me i guess! But it gets lonesome since all my friends seem to be getting jobs ;w;

Self-belief and the drive to work and reach your potential is a powerful thing to have at your disposal. I hope all goes well for you in every thing you go for Heh, having a completely different system in regards to paying for Uni leaves me feeling I've got no idea just how difficult it will be to fund and pay for college... I mean, we can apply for loans over here which more-or-less cover rent and the cost of our course and then if we earn over a certain amount per annum, we pay back a certain percentage per month.... and then (in the case of when I went to Uni, it's changed a little since then) if in 25 years we still have outstanding debt, it gets written off... I'm assuming it's a lot different in the US? (Think you guys actually pay a lot more for your courses too at college)

It took me until I was 21 to actually get a part-time job, I'm partially embarrassed to say. I didn't have the need for money because my Uni grants and loans were covering my spending costs, plus the thought of getting a job when I was in my late teens was absolutely terrifying to me. So where as I didn't have the trigger to actually get out there, everyone else around me seemed to be working. Then again I didn't know a lot of people who worked when I was at college (17-18 years old) after leaving full time education (which we did at 16). I used to do my part around the house and earned money that way so I can relate to what you're saying; I dunno about you but it felt as if I was doing something useful but I wasn't really contributing into the local community and I felt a little bad for that... but I know around that time I was really lacking in the confidence to deal with people and the general public. I was a lot more comfortable hiding away at home and studying at college and university n_n

I'm almost 25 and everyone now seems to be hitting the marriage and parenthood milestones and moving out and buying houses and I can't afford to do any of that -_-; It's frustrating when your peers seem to be leaving you behind n_n;

yeah, i heard about all this written off your college pay and all this awesome-sounding stuff but we definitely dont have that here. We have to pay it all off no matter how long it takes, PLUS INTEREST. so yeah, those thoughts make me a little stressed.
But i am TOTALLY feeling like that though. so i guess its normal? I get nervous in public too long and im scared to get a part-time job. I know im helping my family, but its really not gettin' me anywhere. not that i had much place to go anyway....i just use all my money to buy frivolous things for myself. But yeah i really am feeling exactly like you said. 
oh man, marriage? parenthood?! heh, never rush those things! ^w ^ 
sorry for answering so late uwu' i get so distracted sometimes.
