I think that was just luck. He does turn his head like that if you make certain noises at him. (whistle etc)

I looked at your Gallery to see the pictures you have that ask for Critiques. It's kinda sad, but getting a Critique on a piece around here is really hard to do. Usually, only extremely popular pictures get them! Occasionally I'll make sure I'm the first person to officially critique a piece, but I can't do that for you because the pieces you have... are not ones I can offer any pointers on! Otherwise I'd totally do it. So... my advice instead is to go through Groups and try to find people around through them that are there to give Critiques. 

You can't actually wait around for someone to come along and give one. That could take years. Literally. It can take forever just to have someone come along randomly and give a basic Comment, of any sort- let alone a detailed Critique. I'd hate for your money to have gone to waste. If you want Critiques, you need to get to know people and search for people that give them. You must let people know you want Critiques. And by let them know, I don't mean just putting the sign up. You need to find someone on deviantART that has a Premium and does Critiques. (Or someone who doesn't leaves them in the form of Comments), tap that person on the shoulder and politely ask the to critique your work. Without spamming people, of course.

Hey! Did you change your avatar already? I thought at first it was a low photo of a dress, but now it's a low photo of a dog. Or am I thinking of someone else?

As you can see, I'm verbose enough to give you a Critique, and I have a premium. I'm just not qualified to critique what you have. You're in a better position to critique me than I, you.

Thank you for all the really helpful advice about critique. I have been trying to join groups and stuff to find people but it's not easy. I guess it takes time. I have a husband on here who is a photographer and he recommended I start with premium membership for other reasons too. It's just going to take me a while to find stuff.
Yep you're right I changed my avatar, it was originally a dress and now it's my doggy. I just love him and think he's the cutest.

And hey, thank you for the compliment saying I'm in a better place to critique you not sure I'd agree with you there though...

Glad you have other uses for that Premium than just getting Critiques, and leaving a Critique on that picture I linked you to in my other Reply to your message.

You don't think that dress is the cutest anymore? You just had it on yesterday, and it went out of style already?

I had another look at your drawings. Mmmmmmaaayybe I could try to critique them, but not really... I could Comment on them... but not really critique them... I'm not quite good enough for that. I'll leave some Comments when I get more time. Just you watch.

When you said that you weren't sure you agreed with me that you were in a better place to critique me I was slightly flattered... so maybe... I flattered you and then you did it right back... or something? If you actually looked in my Gallery though, you'd... probably see why I said that! If there's a contest between which of us is worse, I am pretty sure the worse one is me... Your drawings are too nice. Especially those eyes. I can't make eyes like that, and in the event of a drawing tie, you would totally be judged the better artist just because of that!

Soooo...... since I'm not a good enough artist, I make up for it by doing other things and making art that takes advantage of not-100%-art-things I'm good at (while also always trying new things). I make animations and 3D images and funny comic books and birthday presents for other deviants and such. (But NO birthday present for YOU, because you're married and your birthday isn't posted anyway! )

Firstly, married people still deserve birthday presents!

Secondly, that dress was my wedding dress I just felt my dog was a better picture hehe (His name is Chewbacca by the way)

Anyway, any critique you can offer I will gladly accept. I need all the help I can get whether you think you are 'worthy' or not. I'd appreciate it. I have been practising and practising my eyes, that's all it takes dude, practise. You can do it too I promise you. Just copy other peoples pictures until you figure it out. Your art is good and stuff too.
