Drawing really can be frustrating, but you ought to keep at it! Neondragon's book is very helpful as I'm sure you know, and this site is oozing with tutorials and experienced artists willing to help you out.

There are also quite a few livejournal communities that can be quite useful: check out fantasy_crit when you get the chance.
