First off- I'm an artist and I would LOVE To become a tattoo artist.
I'm 16 and will be 17 in June.
There are many high-end tattoo parlors in my area.
If I'm correct, I can get an internship at 16 with parental consent.
Is this accurate?

Yes you can start at the age of 16, but you may not tattoo other people before you are 18. DonΒ΄t know why? but thats the roles. But you can always practise on pig skin or maybe yourself

Oh! Well I'll be 18 at the start of my senior year of highschool, so I don't think that will be a problem for the first year.

Oh! Would you happen to know what technique most artists use for stenciling?

They use a pen and this type of paper that looks like lunch box paper, and then they use somekind of spray to get the drawing on the paper onto your body. I`m afride that I donΒ΄t know what the spray is called and the lunch box paper. Sorry about the wired explaining, but IΒ΄m terreble at writing english, but I speek english very good

if you really want to be a tat artist the key is practice 24-7
get a tat gun and practice on you friends or anyone thats willing to let you tat them.
Just make sure know all the safety precautions, thats the first thing the owner of the shop taught me.

I canΒ΄t practice 24-7 cous IΒ΄m a carpenter and IΒ΄m working every day, I only have time for drawing in weekends. Yes ofcourse safety first

By 24-7 i just meant when every you had the chance. Your right, tattooing is nothing like drawing, at first its kinda hard to even draw a straight line on skin and it takes time to get accustomed to holding a tat gun. Anyway you got skills so just keep up the good work.

the key is practice, once i got my art to a level I was comfortable with I started taking my pic's to the local tat shops for advice. Not all of them really have time or want to be bothered, but luckily there are like millions of that shops around where I live and I found some that loved my art and even offered me a free apprenticeship.

We only have 2 tattoo shops in that city were I live, but I donΒ΄t think that thoes tattoo artists are that good at tattooing. SΓ₯ I travel to other tattoo shops here in Denmark

IΒ΄ve thought about it before, but I do not have that great skills yet, compared to thoes who draw every single day. I do only draw when I have time for it, IΒ΄m a carpenter, so when I get home from work, I`m totally exhausted, then I donΒ΄t have the energy to draw... But the drawings IΒ΄ve done so far is good, but but not that good as the real tattoo artists... My dream was to become a tattoo artist and have my own shop, cous I love to draw and I have so many ideas / fantasy for new tattoo drawings, but I ended up as a carpenter
