Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. Been busy. Everything's been alright. Health issues have sort of evened out lately. I ended up having an emergency appendectomy in early March which sort of threw off school for a while. But lately things have been working out. I'm working for my school's newspaper and hopefully interning at the paper in my hometown this summer.
I just found out that the school I was hoping to transfer to didn't offer me enough money so I'm stuck in Colorado for school, but I think I'll live. The apartment hunting is no fun. It's tough to find a one-bedroom in a college town anytime between like March and September.

I definitely understand the busyness. I just finally got enough time to try to sit around and get things done. Everything's been crazy! I'm glad the health situation has evened out.
Good luck with apartment hunting; it's never easy. And state school's aren't too bad. Because trust me, after college, no one cares where you went unless it was Ivy League.

Oh my gosh.... I've been really far away from dA lately! Busy. Life has gotten really chaotic, since I'm a senior and I'm taking some really heavy courses, plus marching band. I have a lot of stuff to fill time... And not enough actual time to fill. I bet that makes more sense than it feels like it did.... >.>
But anyway, I've been doing pretty well in general.

Senior year is always busy, so I feel you there. Just don't forget to take some time to breathe and relax. It'll be done before you know it.
I'm doing pretty well. Graduated college, left my old job, and started a new job as a special education paraprofessional. Not a full fledged teaching job but definitely a foot in the door.

Done before I know it... I think the last message I sent you, I didn't realize that marching band wouldn't be a factor for much longer. I mean it didn't really hit me. But yesterday was state... And it's really shocking that it's all over. Like... The biggest part of my life for the last four years ended last night and it's crazy.

It's always over before you knew it. My college years went so fast, and it was incredibly strange when I was done and kept feeling like I had to go back in the fall.

Well, I'm certified to teach 7-12. I find 6th and under to be immature to teach. As one of my old teachers put it, "I don't feel like wiping noses and kissing owwies." By the point you reach high school, most kids don't care about school anymore and really start to act out against their teachers.

Very nice! I always thought that any of those middle ages would be fine to teach... But I'm kind of sociophobic in a way that being around too many people for too much time triggers major anxiety and anger. So I don't think I'd make a very good teacher. xD

I have very bad anxiety and I'm a teacher. It takes some time. Once you get up in front of the classroom for a lot of time and get used to it, you just don't notice anymore. Though I will say I prefer working as a paraprofessional because I work with only 6 kids, rather than 90 something.

Yeah. My issues are more like... I have anger problems and I can't handle being around people that learn slowly or make the same mistake twice. I have a hard enough time being a high school student, haha. I would definitely agree that working with 6 is easier than 90 though. I'm glad you've found a job you like!!! You like it, right? Basically I give extra help to special education students. I read them tests, reteach subjects, keep them focused in class, and do a lot of trying to give them more confidence. It's tiring, but rewarding.

I would imagine! That sounds like a lot of fun, actually. I spent a little time working with the special education program at my school and there was one boy who was so much fun to be around. He had a spine problem that affected his brain when he was younger and was in a wheelchair and unable to really communicate, but he was just the sweetest guy ever... He died on Sunday. My entire school was silent almost all day Monday. But I just remember how much fun I had working with him! He was awesome.

Some of those kids are amazing. We have a student confined to an electric wheelchair, and he's the happiest kid there could be. Yesterday he was ecstatic and doing a turkey dance in his chair. Boy, he's got some rhythm! That's sad to hear. At least you got the opportunity to work with him.
