Ah, the ablative absolutes... Caesar's Latin is in my opinion the most well written Latin

Well, I'm still at school. But my class is still working with Via Nova, a learning-to-understand-Latin book. With stories as well, but they're not written by ancient writers.
Except for me ^^, but I haven't read others much. Well, at least VTO Latijn (I have no idea what it would be in English. Let's say Latin in Latin) is going to start this week.

Nah, not really. It's like sitting in a classroom with a teacher who speaks Latin, and where you have to speak Latin.
(and translate sentences into Latin, unlike the usual from Latin, as homework)

How strange o_o We started out with reading Phaedrus on day one, but we're not speaking Latin or anything. We're told that it's useless speaking it, but we read "real" texts like nothing else.
