Thank you, sir. I was about to change a lot more shit and realized it was frivolous. The final verdict was that I needn't hide artistic expression. I don't need to hide from anything or anyone, as a matter of fact. However, that conclusion was reached after I had already changed the username, and fuck me if that little bubble above it doesn't negate the entire fucking purpose in the first place. I forgot about that little fucker. Oh well.Β

It doesn't appear so. According to settings I am stuck with this one until November. HA! I won't be paying any more money to change it, so I guess this is it forever and ever and ever and ever

I think merit certainly exists. Sorrow and grief are executed gorgeously alongside hopelessness and an implied denouncement of religion/spiritual belief. I'm just sort of a sucker for things like this.Β

Aside from the images of being present for the passing, it reminded me of my own grief at the death of my grandfather and my loss of words to properly honor him.Β

Focus your revision on the first stanza and fix the typo in the third. I'm extremely self-critical, so I dare not critique too much for fear I may eat my foot.

I think that about most of my writing. I think my dA edits will be a continuous process until the end of time. I'll be sure to read the journals, though. Thanks for the heads up.

I know none of my stuff is marked with a request for critique, but I do like getting it. If i'm doing something right, I like knowing it, if I'm doing something your not sure about, I like knowing it. If something is unclear\vague in the bad way, I need to know about it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

InDecentSeas In reply to Braxton-T-Rutledge [2013-11-10 03:29:59 +0000 UTC]

I will keep that in mind as I read. I don't like to offer full, in-depth critiques anyway, as I don't consider that I'm knowledgeable enough to give them. That being said, I will offer whatever critique I deem necessary. Most of my stuff is available for critique as well, and I appreciate any I can get.

Thanks for the favourite! I identify with a lot of the reasons you started writing - people barely resembling certain schoolmates tended to die viciously in my early stuff as well, and not even much of that made it to DA

InDecentSeas In reply to Lethus1 [2013-11-08 02:40:33 +0000 UTC]

Lethus1 In reply to InDecentSeas [2013-11-08 18:18:24 +0000 UTC]

No! If no one sees it, it never happened! I like to think everyone goes through a stage like this, which is the only consolation I've got. I'm pretty sure most people look at their early writing and think 'Jesus, what the hell was this?'Β

Or worse...

"Oh, and I SHOWED IT TO PEOPLE.'Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

InDecentSeas In reply to Lethus1 [2013-11-09 01:42:22 +0000 UTC]

I have already made that mistake on this very site., unfortunately. I went through a huge cleanse of old, embarrassing writing a month or two ago. I keep my early writing as humbling reminders of my progression. I'm very glad I didn't know about this site as a teenager because those are my sentiments EXACTLY.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lethus1 In reply to InDecentSeas [2013-11-09 02:36:16 +0000 UTC]

Angst is at once a horrible, embarrassing thing, but also a great writing inspiration. I think teenage years are the best time to start, no matter what shite you produce, because that's when you're at your most emotional and haywired - there's only improvement from there. I don't like to read the stuff I wrote, but I don't regret it. They say you do the most growing you ever do in your teens/early twenties, and often writing reflects that.

I have to admit to you now, we went to the pub and my old schoolfriend got me quite drunk, so hopefully this all still makes sense!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

InDecentSeas In reply to Lethus1 [2013-11-09 03:12:26 +0000 UTC]

Agreed. Angst was the first inspiration for me. Negative emotion in general has continued to be inspiration for me. However, as I grow older I move further away from that end of the spectrum. Because of said cleanse, and my recent decision to edit some very old work, I have read a lot of my old writing. Most of it will never make it here. Haha! That being said, I don't regret any of it. I plan to grow and evolve until I die, so I hope my writing will reflect that.

Get drunk!Β SlΓ‘inte! You still make perfect sense. Have an awesome night!
