Considering the amounts of raging fanboys that even went as far as hacking your account, I really can't blame you for quitting dA earlier.
If that shit had happened to me, I'd probably have quit on the spot (though I'd have kept contact with friends made here).

that was my backup account that got hacked. Originally I left because of how poorly run this site is and who runs it. And they're still money leeches pretty much. But of course, I've had to deal with a few other issues not caused by the staff here, as there are still a lot of unruly and immature types around.

If ya ask me, I think paying for Core membership just to change your username (and I know it can be gifted, it's still money to dA regardless) is stupid.
Also, E.E., another artist on this site, had his core membership revoked and unrefunded because his card was apparently fraudulent or some other stupid reason. Made him quit in rage for a moment. He didn't deserve it.
Oh, and don't get me started on the immature users on here i.e. Sharktooth. In fact, I didn't make an account on dA around the time you were still drawing and uploading your art on here because I didn't want to make a really bad first impression.

Oh I'm aware of all those, I just tend to lurk around a lot to see how things are, and I have seen almost no improvements to this place and its community at all.
And if you ask me about E.E's issue, I think just another excuse to rip money off someone.

Oh, yeah.
I mean there's other artists and writers that are super nice like WildBlueFantasy and all that but there's always gonna be those obsessive fans that either beg and beg and beg for requests or those ones that just start roleplays in a picture's comments.
I think every artist gets those kinds of people and there's usually no way to stop those kinds of people from doing it.
