I think if you added some more shading to the tree it would pop out of the picture more. You did such a good job with the lanterns.

Tips? Let's see...I guess a lot of practice works well but also charcoal is a very forgiving media. Actually I never worked much with charcoal before my Drawing class but once I tried it, I loved it.
