Hey, have you gone to...visit your sister(s) was it...in Europe yet? Haven't seen you at the dojo, well, at all.
If you are having fun in foreign lands...lucky bastard, you'll have to tell me about it later.

No Europe action as of yet. I've been in Socorro for the past six weeks. I'm back in town though, so we'll probably run into one another soon here.
Cheers.

I just want you to know that I have been thinking of your latest literary master-piece all day, and every time I do it makes me chuckle. It has been a very interesting experience trying to explain what I found so side-achingly amusing.
Thanks.

Literary masterpiece? Your compliment is kind, but misplaced.
I'm glad that I managed to achieve in other people regarding your laughter. That strikes me as a worthy reward for writing.
Cheers.

They're going. How are you? What's the hot gossip? In love? Out of? It's been a little while, I guess, since last I saw you, but it seems like longer, because whenever I do you're always flitting off somewhere. Maybe it's me. Anyway, I hope you're doing well. Really.
Love.

Heh, thank you Ben.
As of late, my habit of flitting off has been acting up a bit, yes. I've mainly been trying to avoid any relationship-esque actions. I can't really tell if it's helping or not...at least I have a little more time to focus on studies and work. Eh.
How about you, in love, or out? Like I said, trying to avoid it for now. Angst!
I hope you're doing well too, comrade.
Pray, tell me of new advancements in your life!

Ah, still working at the cinema then? Don't overdo it. Every time you consume an energy drink or cigarette, someone, somewhere stubs their toe. Just remember that.
Love, no, not so much of that, though closer than I've been in perhaps a year. And two of them at once, how lucky of me, it never rains but it pours yada yada. If love is say a swimming pool, I'm standing on the edge, fully clothed, wanting a swim but wondering if it's worth getting all wet.
Cheers.

I love that last line you wrote. Living poetry, you are!
Love is pleasant. But such a sweet thing seems to be so damaging o.O
What are you up to this fine month of January?

ItMightBeABridge In reply to Gyroskope [2006-01-27 05:51:31 +0000 UTC]
Damaging, true, and I would say also necessary. In fact, damage itself is necessary, and perhaps we ought to spend less time barricading ourselves from it. I'll call in reinforcements on this point, quoting them by memory and, thus, probably incorrectly.
Oberst: "It's the ones with the sorest throats that have done the most singing."
Emerson: "Life only avails, not the having lived."
So, correctmeifI'mwrong, one has life, one has pain, one has beauty, and this is the way it should be. And if the hokey pokey were not so clearly what It is all about, I would say that It is all about beauty. But one does not argue with Mr. Pokey.
This fine January sees me taking the fine SAT on this fine Saturday. Rock n' roll.
Tell me a story.
I hope you're well.
Cheers.

First and foremost, I love how everything you say is a wonderful persuasive essay. Heh.
Tell you a story?
Humm..
You know, this is difficult...I'm in the middle of cleaning my entire house for the weekend, considering what food to eat and get me through the day, and I'm excruciatingly tired.
But, I have a short little tale I could conjur for you:
Gerald was a beautiful cat, one preened over by both himself, and his owner Haley. Haley loved him very much as a kitten, and it seemed she would never stop petting his thin baby fur.
However, as she grew up, Haley noticed other things than kittens. Bigger and more advanced things, like chasing boys, and stealing cheap clothing.
Poor Gerald was forgotten. It had been forever since Haley had stroked his small frame. One day Haley came home, sobbing. Apparently, she was dealing with the ultimately crushing angst of Junior High *scoff scoff*.
Gerald peeked into her room from the hallway, only watching for fear she would shoo him outside. She phone every friend of hers, but no one had the right answers to her problems.
Gerald made a tiny squeak, catching Haley's attention. To Gerald's surprise, Haley called him into her room. Without a further peep from either of them, they curled up together for sleep. It was at this point in which Gerald knew his place with Haley: her comfort animal.
Take that Ben. I'm TOTALLY going to submit poo like this to ChickenSoup For The Soul. Enjoy

Thank you for adding one of my pieces to your favourites. I really enjoyed your poetry, but I didn't feel comfortable leaving an "advanced critique" because I can barely discern iambic pentameter from iambic tetrameter; dissecting poems, for anything other than meaning, is something which I'll never be able to master. So, I'm a little child who is in love with ice cream but doesn't yet have the words or development to express what she likes about it. But I do know that I like it. I'll add you to my "deviant watch" or whatever they call it, as well. Take care.

I would never ask you to comment if you are not comfortable doing so; however, the "advanced critique" label may be misleading. I don't mean that critiques need necessarily be advanced. It was merely the most affirmative label the site would let me attach. In other words, I am desperately looking for critiques and commentary of any kind, advanced or otherwise. If you don't want to, that's perfectly alright. I appreciate that you read the poems. But don't let the "advanced" scare you away.
It felt like a copout making a daily deviation a favorite, but your piece grabbed my instantly. It's exactly the style I love. I have a soft spot for certain veins of abstract expressionism, and things approaching it. It was late at night when I did it, and so I haven't had time to look at your gallery yet, but I plan to do so. I would hate to think I only knew you by the one piece that was selected (which was beautiful, nevertheless).
Cheers.

Hardly masked, I think. I mean, my (rather twisted, I'll admit) face appears clearly on my page thing, and my name is on it too. Here's a hint: it begins with a Ben and ends with a Knudsen. Guesses...?
