I'm okay with Danny and Sam. I believe that you don't choose the ship, the ship chooses you. Val/Danny got me before Sam/Danny could is all. I wrote a really sad fic for them and I neglected to put Sam's input in because I'd cry. Because it'd be too mean to her and she's one of my favorite characters.
And Finnceline is my main ship. I love it.
