No need to thank, really like your maquettes and kind of inspired to try and work out some sculptures after seeing them, so thank you.

Thank you, still haven't gotten to the sculpting yet aside from very small scale miniatures. Looking forward to doing so soon.
Glad you like the light, I'm enjoying it more as well now that I'm getting the hang of the look. All the best.

haha, im terrible at responding on this in a timely manner.
All is going well, brief hiatus from painting to recharge my batteries, ready to jump back into it now.
Got some updated tech so I can actually scan and tablet use now. I am a very happy camper atm. How bout you?

JayelDraco In reply to JGroeling [2010-04-11 02:40:02 +0000 UTC]
heh heh. . . No worries.
I'm glad to hear your doing well.
Yeah recharging is important,
otherwise things start to come out soulless.
I guess that's why there's so many different art forms that I try to tackle.
So when I'm recharging from one, I can be doing another.
Currently I'm back into a huge stop motion kick!
One of these days I'm gonna have to get a tablet.
Corinne loves her tablet. She uses it all the time.
It's good to hear from you!

JGroeling In reply to JayelDraco [2010-04-19 04:36:31 +0000 UTC]
Ditto on the multiple approaches. I was getting a little burnt out painting (mainly cuz the color work taxes me sometimes) so I decided to work on some black n whites for a few days.
Hows the stop motion work going? I still want to learn how to do that at some point. How involved is it from a tech standpoint? computers still dont like me so I try to use them as little as possible. haha
Sorry to hear that LoveNico is no longer in operation. Are Corinne and yourself planning any other clothing ventures at a future date or both focusing on other outlets for now?

JGroeling In reply to JGroeling [2010-04-25 03:12:11 +0000 UTC]
I can see that, your work is always improving. Kudos.
I do seriously want to learn, and would really appreciate any input you can provide on ways to make it easier, more affordable. I understand the need for computers, I'd probably be editing with final cut to include music and maybe different sounds and such. My main thing is I have to work with my hands on projects, I love the physical interaction with a piece of work and that feeling that emanates from it afterward, like it has been charged with the emotions and energy that went into it.
In that case congrats on the newly reacquired freedom in the design stages. Are you currently marketing any "Corinne Alexis Hall" clothes?
What kind of animations, doing stop motion? Got them up for sharing somewhere?

JayelDraco In reply to JGroeling [2010-04-20 18:13:06 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, not only is it good to mix it up for personal sanity reasons, but also different types of work force you to hone different toolsets. Various toolsets are often complimentary. ie, I've learned things from sculpting that have enhanced my drawing. . . ect.
The stop-motion is always fun. I don't always have the luxury of working on my stop-motion projects, but it's always rewarding when I do. If you seriously want to get into it, I can show you some really effective cheap techniques. After that the limits of your imagination are the only limits. I wouldn't be able to do what I do without computers, but there is really simple ways to approach it where computer use is minimal.
I think LoveNico going under was kind of a blessing in disguise, because now Corinnes designs are no longer subject to anyone elses input. Instead of saying "LoveNico" on the tag, it'll say "Corinne Alexis Hall". I don't think we'll ever stop doing clothing designs, but now we're allot freer to do what we want. Although, we have been focusing much more on animation lately.

The time invested in it definitely shows, thats what makes it such a drawing image, all those small details in the bones flesh and the eyes (especially like them in the lower part of the second trunk over) I also really like your self portrait w no ears image, great detail and small writings to enjoy while taking in the whole image. Great stuff.
Also thank you for the compliment, the werewolf is an old fun one.
