# About me
JK Studios Ltd is a small computer graphics and visual effects studio based in London, run by James Kearsley.We create 3D animation, visual effects and motion graphics content for music videos, video games, websites and offline media. Previous work includes creative content for end clients such as Virgin, CBeebies, Codemasters, Sega, Garmin, SAAB and Nature, artists such as Example, Subfocus and Iglu & Hartley, with content appearing on television, in commercials, PC games and Xbox360 / PS3.

yea, its all done in max! I've started on a car, its well on its way now - starting to take shape.
I spent 6 years doing computer science (2 in a diploma)and dropped out in my last year realising i hate it! haha.

Hi james, have to say, fair play on the body of work you have under your belt. Very inspirational stuff, you are one of two people that have inspired me to quit doing something that i thought was the right thing to study in life and peruse something creative.
In my new diection of life i have started to focus on max within college and as a project i have been asked to produce a car and i instantly thought about your audi model. Can you give me some insight to your modeling technique?
Is that a new reel on your site? I recall it being a bit shorter. I first stumbled apon it when i was looking up who did the 'our velocity' video, quality stuff!

Regarding the modelling technique - I always use poly modelling or box modelling. Right click > convert to poly, then extrude/chamfer/tweak vertices.
I start of by modelling a rough box shape and then work it down (imagine you're adding detail, like clay), by adding more polygons and refining it.
I guess that's the best way I can explain it...!
I think it must be a new reel since the last you saw - the funny thing is that it's now out of date again and I need to update it.
I helped the director a bit with our velocity, producing some animatics and previsuals to plan the shots (and I came up with a few ideas which are in there!!), but I didn't work on the finished product, shame..!

starting at the age of 8 on your fathers old mac and then to become this much of an artist today is truly amazing.
i guess i've just wittnessed pure dedication.
and besides it's in fact the broad range of various techniques and results which really puts me in a sustained impression of being stunned.
keep up this oh so brilliant work.
it's undoubtedly and by all means worth a permanent watch.
