So D&D dragons, ever consider trying a half dragon?
I am trying to conceptualize one of my D&D characters and he is kinda strange, Half Red Dragon Troll, I don't like the classic pointy nosed gangling troll of D&D so he looks more brutish. Mostly created this creature because I like monsters and I think the most monstrous abilities are a dragons breath and trolls regeneration. I just cannot fully imagine the terror that he would instill in those who wind up with him in a party. I think that playing humans are boring in a fantasy game, and most of the common races I find not much more interesting, then again I like playing evil characters.
Β I was playing a game the other week and my character started eating a dead human, he was killed by the good druid in a lightning blast, and my troll decided he needed a meal, along with scaring/intimidating the sole survivor for information. The Druid player reacted as calling it cannibalism...heh I was like this is a troll they will eat pretty much anything and he was taking it too seriously that since I am human making my troll eat the dead is consider cannibalism. I just wanted to RP my alignment well and having a good character wipe out a half dozen slaves seems more out there then Β a hungry monster...
Anyways was going to ask why black dragons? i have seen a few posts saying you like them

I have not drawn a half dragon! Although I'm not opposed to the thought.
That sounds like a pretty nasty fellow, haha, reminds me of a half Canoloth (Yugoloth from planescapes if you're not familiar. 
Half red dragon is an interesting choice, considering that trolls are weak to fire, and red dragons immune to fire, it'd be interesting how that would work out. XD
I think I love black dragons because of the design that they were given in 3.0+, I'm very fond of undead-like creatures, so the skull dragon concept really appealed to me, I think they are very fun to draw, without the tedious amount of work that a dracolich takes. Looks-wise I also love the concepts of gem dragons, and prismatic dragons, but they need more good artwork to do them justice.
My alltime favorite dragons are actually White dragons though! I love the idea that Crystal dragons who share the same habitat occasionally steal white dragon eggs in an attempt to raise them up to be good. That idea is what inspired one of my main characters whom collects monsters and raises them to be neutral, like her, the more intelligent ones being almost like children.
