Graduate of the Kubert School. I am a freelance artist/illustrator living in Los Angeles.

I've done work as a storyboard artist for several AAA video game titles including Star Wars Battlefront and Prey. I've also worked closely with Shop LLAP, Kobe Inc, Darkburn Studios, and JUMP! Thanks for watching! I found your dA page when a google search for "Danger Room" brought up one of your X-Men pages. That script was from the late 90s Marvel Try Out book wasn't it? It looks like it. The first sequential pages I ever worked on were from that script so it was cool to see some other takes on it. Anyway, I think the work you're doing is really, really good. Keep it up!

Good to meet you Josh! Quick thoughts: You're much stronger on the stylistic cartoony stuff at the moment, and that's a GOOD thing. You have real talent, so the fact you can draw REAL stuff under-pins all the art. Works a treat.
On the mainstream, more adult comic pages -

Follow the form with your line.
Keep it clean.
Ink with a brush - if you can get that mastered everything else will follow.
Learn how the body REALLY fits together. You'll be learning anatomy for the rest of your life, but study the masters - Michaelangelo, Frazetta, Corben (old stuff like Den) and Buscema.
Copy as accurately as you possibly can a complex piece by Brian Bolland - just in inked black and white. Get all the line weights. You'll learn so much. They don't come better than Brian. Or the other Bryan, Hitch. Or Frazetta. All different styles, but worth getting your head around. Note - This is just a learning experience. There's NOTHING wrong with copying. :-) (Smile)

Lastly - have fun, and don't be too hard on yourself!
