Hello there, Jackie. Thank you very much for the watch back in December. I apologize for the delay, tons of messages in the inbox and not much free time make me look like an ungrateful bastard.
Again, thank you very much for the support, I really appreciate it.

Thank you very much! More will be going up in the very near future.
Likewise, I love your abstract work
It's the kind of stuff I'd like to draw, if only I could draw well haha

ooh well i feel priveleged
heh your work reminds me of Henri-Cartier Bressons
and i like how it's darkroom too!
noice

Haha you should.
Henri-Cartier Bressons. Can't say I've heard of him before, I should look him up.
Yeah film photography is by far the best in my opinion.
It's so much more personal because you've done the whole process yourself, from the shot down to the print.
It's pretty fulfilling

oh hehe it's Bresson, i meant Bressons as in 's if you know what i mean
heh i totally just confused myself
well yeh he's really neato, i highly suggest you look him up
film is quite good
i usually rush it when i get excited so the developer makes the images go all stoopid, hehe

Jackie123456 In reply to turah [2008-10-14 10:27:27 +0000 UTC]
Haha oops my mistake, I realised that when I tried searching him on google
And yes I did look him up and I can't believe I haven't heard of him before.. being one of the pioneers of photojournalism afterall!
Oh I know, probably the only downfall to film. Waiting for the image to print.
Hehe I know what you mean, sometimes I can't contain myself either!

hehe i spose it's worth the patience because it looks so pure in the end
i love solarising them too, but i still need to perfect it
as well as oil paints, which i find work well on matte prints
Jan Saudek does awesome oil paint prints

Yes very true
I haven't gone too much into solarizing or oil paints yet.
Call me old fashioned, but I'm pretty content with the traditional printing haha.
The oil paints could possibly work well with pearl prints as well.
Wow! I looked at her work. She's amazing, seriously they almost look digital!

oh no that's fair enough
and traditional is great, for me personally using oil paints is something completely new and feels really natural, as i love painting
yeh her work is great
i used one of her more "graphic" images in my folio for school
my teacher didn't really know what to say to it
haha

Yeah painting is heaps fun,
but unfortunately you're not always good at stuff you like haha.
In my case anyway, I'm not the best of painters.
I would say she loved the graphic image so much it left her speechless
or she was completely horrified haha.

haha, well either way you should be proud
i totally dig the not-being-good-at-things-you-like thing
i used to suck at photography, but i really liked it
2 years later i really enjoy it

Jackie123456 In reply to turah [2008-10-15 09:21:01 +0000 UTC]
Well sometimes there is no point in knowing what your doing in art or in this case photography.
But it certainly helps I guess haha.
I like that with art. You don't even have to know what your doing to create something aesthetically pleasing.

i know exactly what you mean
that's the beauty of abstract
it can be whatever you want it to be and no one can tell you otherwise
