A girl passes by who seems to have what looked like cat ears and a tail. ''Hmm.. Now where do they sell strawberry icecream, nya~?'' She was talking to herself while looking around.

Jade couldn't help but notice the young girl - it wasn't every day you saw a girl with feline features, especially around Auldrant where the only race was humans.
He overheard her mention something about ice cream, and approached her warmly, "Excuse me, miss... may I help you with anything?" he smiled.

Shia looked at him. 'A human? Great!' She thought to herself.
The catgirl nodded as she smiled. ''I'm looking for a shop where they sell icecream. Do you know where one is, nya~?'' She waged her tail.

"Hmm... Ice cream? The only place I can think of around here that sells ice cream is the little vendor down in the produce row." He pointed toward a row of stands. "I'm not sure it's open, though. There is an ice cream in a nearby town, though..." he thought aloud, looking the girl over again. What an interesting girl. Is she a product of science, as well? I must know more about her... he thought, in his head.

The cat girl sighed. ''Another town, nya? At least it's nearby. Though there are a lot of scary monsters..'' She noticed the man looking at her and looked at him. ''Nya?'' Her ears twitched.

"Monsters are not a problem." He smirked as he conjured his spear from thin air. "I think I should be able to handle any monsters that dare to attack us. If you don't mind... may I ask who you are? Your name, where you're from... what species are you?" He was fascinated, and decided to get right to the point and ask what he wanted to know.

She looked suprised and amazed at the appearing spear. ''A-amazing.'' The cat girl kept looking at it, while wondering what it was since she never saw anything like that before. ''Ah, my name is Shia, nya~'' She smiled. ''Where I'm from..?'' The girl started to think, not really knowing where she's from. ''From .. my parents?'' Neither did she know who exactly her parents were. ''And species, uhm, cat girl? Well, I was born this way, nya. Though I don't know much about my past..''

She didn't know much? That was a little disappointing, he thought. But it couldn't be helped, so he just shrugged. Until he noticed her staring at his spear in awe, "Oh, this? I'm able to conjure my spear by focusing fonons in one spot." He was sure she probably had no idea what fonons were, but he didn't feel like launching into a long explanation at the moment.

Shia never saw any weapons before except for swords. She was very interested in the things humans do and what kind of things they have. ''Spear?'' The girl touched it carefully. ''So this is called a spear, nya? Do you use it to let fruits that are in high place fall?'' She wondered, though she didn't know much about weapons in general.

He thought about her question, an amused grin on his face. "Well, I suppose that's one thing you could use a spear for. They're also a useful tool in combat with monsters and enemy soldiers." He demonstrated by swinging his spear violently at the air. "It's a method of self-defense, much like a sword but with longer reach."

''So you .. kill monsters with it, nya?'' She wasn't really fond of killing others, neither humans or monsters. ''Can't you be friends with your enemies? That way you don't have to kill one another and everyone will be happy.'' Shia smiled, liking the idea.

Jade smiled and sighed at the cat girl's naivety. "It would be wonderful NOT to have to kill others, but unfortunately the monsters and opposing armies don't see it that way... You see, for some creatures living in this world, killing is essential to their survival." He felt a little guilty explaining this to her, she was so innocent... and he'd committed so many crimes in the past that trying to justify them hurt, "So for humans like myself, it's a measure of self-defense against them."
He sensed it was time to change the subject, "How about that ice cream? I'll gladly escort you to the next town over, if you'd like."

When she heard all that she felt rather sad but as soon as the new subject came, she forgot about the other subject. ''You really want to do that? Thank you, nya!'' The girl held his arm tight, waging her tail. ''I wonder what kinda icecream they have. I'm gonna get a really big strawberry icecream, nya!'' Shia said cheerfully.

"Ahaha, I'm sure you are." Jade smiled. "Now, the walk to the other town may take a while, are you prepared to walk?" he felt a little like a parent asking their kid to make sure they went to the bathroom before going on a long trip.

Jade laughed as he followed after her, "You don't know where we're going yet, though, do you Miss...?" He realized he didn't know what her name was, "I'm sorry, I don't believe we formally introduced ourselves..."
