My pleasure, I like fav'ing high quality artists who take commissions. I also own a very small RPG publishing company so I might be in touch in the future.

Definitely let me know. I'm hungry for some work.

My pleasure, you seem to excel in the area where I am particularly weak so it's a pleasure to watch.

IADM In reply to Jagash [2010-03-05 13:34:38 +0000 UTC]

Thanks a lot Jason!
What would that area be?
Because I really wouldnΒ΄t know what my area of excel is...Really.

Jagash In reply to IADM [2010-03-05 16:35:45 +0000 UTC]

Black and white lineart and the like. It's an area / style that I have little skill, which is obvious if you look at my gallery. My strength is in colour theory and some digital art, but I can't produce the initial sketch or inked product very effectively.

What are your weapons of choice/ tools?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Jagash In reply to IADM [2010-03-12 05:15:35 +0000 UTC]

Primarily "The GIMP", though I have also used Inkscape to some moderate success. While I have used painter, I am quite bad at it. I am decent at refining an existing image or colouring, but the original design just doesn't seem to work terribly well.

Get a pencil and a piece of paper and try traditional medium.

For some reason I just freeze up and fail on figure-drawing efforts. I think perhaps starting with tracing, then drawing from reference images might be enough to get over the block, but the activity fills me with dread rather then with excitement.

IADM In reply to Jagash [2010-03-30 04:19:09 +0000 UTC]

DonΒ΄t do it then.
You are supossed to enjoy it.

Jagash In reply to IADM [2010-03-30 10:58:06 +0000 UTC]

Wisdom, though once I get past this mental block I will return to enjoying making art. It's just rather hard to produce more decent art without that skillset.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

IADM In reply to Jagash [2010-04-07 13:14:11 +0000 UTC]

Well yes, you will be a little limited with what you can do. I hope you get past the mental block soon and start enjoying the tools.

It is indeed awesome. The only criticism I have is that the angle/shape of the sword seems a touch off, but beyond that it is flawless.

DavidSondered In reply to Jagash [2009-05-12 11:16:25 +0000 UTC]

yeah, it is mainly because of the curve of the blade though, I had to choose between dynamic pose and straight blade or non-dynamic pose and curved blade. Unsurprisingly enough I picked option three...curved AND dynamic cheers for the crit though, anything to improve

I challenge you! For every deviation that I've posted in the last four days, you have six days to match it! (So, you have six days to post five deviations.)

You can do it. Now, get to it!

Jagash In reply to jackalibis [2009-04-01 10:57:02 +0000 UTC]

*wince* I will try to rise to the challenge, though that might be rather tough based on my workload/art style.

Come on, you can do it! I didn't say you had to submit your best works ever, now did I? You have an account, now bloody use it, eh?

Thanks very much for the compliment! Give me a camera and im fine, give me a computer and all hell is let loose lol! I wish I had as much talent as you in that department.

Jagash In reply to Tina--Louise [2008-11-21 14:47:06 +0000 UTC]

What is this "talent" that you speak of? I am trying to play around and obtain some rudimentary skill, but I still have a heck of a long way to go.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tina--Louise In reply to Jagash [2008-11-23 16:13:06 +0000 UTC]

You might not see is as talent, but your getting there I think!

Jagash In reply to Tina--Louise [2008-11-24 02:13:17 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps, though I need to get down to working on the fundamentals and producing things.
