As an advise, make them cheaper first when you start doing characters and then gradually add the price when more people like your adopts!

if you do auctions you need to have a starting bid, let's say 100
then you need to have a minimum increase as an example it can be 20
and then finally the auto buy option, that is usually much higher, like 500
You should also add the end date for the auction in the description.
as an example:
Starting bid (SB): 100
Minimum Increase: 20
Auto Buy (AB): 500
End date for the auction is 48 hours from now.
If you don't want to do auctions, then you need to have the price shown in the description clearly.
