Would you say you produce your images with a light capturing device and present them largely unedited, with only enhancement of color, crop, and basic presentation?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RailBiker In reply to JaredPLNormand [2013-04-16 15:56:41 +0000 UTC]

Yes--color and cropping are my only enhancements--original images are all B&W

If your original images are B&W and you say you enhance color, does that mean you add color?

Your motion photography is truly inspiring. I think I will do more in this direction. If it works out with my DSLR I could de-dust my analog 6x6

Thanks again for the inspiration!

JaredPLNormand In reply to OrangeUtan [2011-02-16 06:22:42 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much. I'm flattered.
I've discovered many things about myself while working on them.
Practice on the digital and get the exposure technique down tight on manual before moving over to analogue where you can produce much better quality. I started in analogue and took a while of experimentation to get the exposure right.
Send me a note when you post some and I'll take a look. My girlfriend produced some awesome work as well: [link]

JaredPLNormand In reply to OhGenius [2010-08-23 11:52:10 +0000 UTC]

You do as well. I spent some time in your gallery and I found the smoke photos more interesting when the smoke fills the frame better. Negative space is important and often dynamic but keep the smoke as the medium and not the subject. Focus on the form and elements of it, not just the fact that it's smoke. "Transecto etereo 0428" is beautiful but reads as smoke too fast. Whereas, "Humo 0584" and "Humo 9972" do not readily read as smoke because I see the form and texture, color and value before I examine the medium. "Transecto etereo 0428" does not have as interesting use of those elements for me to enjoy before looking for the medium. Instead, I ask immediately "What material is this?" without appreciating it's visual beauty. Do you understand my point?

First I must thank you comment; it's the first time I have this kind of interaction with another deviant, thank you so much.
Then I want to apologize because my english sucks There's been a long time without using it.
I understood your point, but now I need some time to asimilate it and to work it. Certainly I'm a little short of theory and I'm still working to improve my technique.
Thank you, again, for your comment; I truly apreciate
