Sorry to bother you J and for this long rant, but I remember you couldn't decide what game to get, so here's my little review! I tried to not put any spoilers in there, so there shouldn't be any and def not any major ones, I promise. Also, I love both games almost equally, I just like Conquest a tad bit more as you'll see me say in here but that's mainly because I prefer the style and I played it first haha
Ok so J I'm at Chapter 11 in Birthright and Chapter 17 in Conquest and here's what I think so far...So personally I prefer Conquest a little bit more. Birthright is good too, though, and I love it as well, but that's just me. So in Conquest the game is harder and also starts off much darker, although I've heard things change in Birthright after recent kinda spoilers I ran into... ^.^'
It's harder to come by gold in that game and there aren't any battles like the Risen battles with the exception of the Invasions and Paralogues to train out of the chapters. However, this game has more of a story, in my opinion, so far at least. You are being given missions by your King that you have to complete and stuff while refusing to actually kill anyone and spreading peace and still complete his missions. In Birthright, you're kinda just traveling from place to place and stuff but there's more of a story a bit later on, you'll see. There are battles you can do and stuff to train along the way and you earn and find gold very easily. Birthright is also more like Awakening than Conquest with the set up and stuff - like the gold and battles and etc.
Also, so far Birthright is a lot lighter and happier in the beginning than Conquest is. However, in Birthright you betray the friends you've grown up with all your life and after playing part of Conquest, it was really hard for me to fight against them and turn against them and stuff which is part of the reason I like Conquest a little better. On the other hand, in Conquest, the king keeps trying to make you do terrible things so there's that...Oh, and you have more of a choice of newer weapons in Birthright but in Conquest you have more traditional weapons.
Most important of all though...If you wanna be a lesbian, play Birthright, if you wanna be gay, play Conquest. aND WHATEVER YOU DO DONT PLAY BOTH YOU WILL CRY ESPECIALLY IF YOU PLAY CONQUEST FIRST!
Birthright also has a more traditional Japanese style with clothing and architecture and Japanese names while Conquest is modeled after Ancient Greek and Rome and medieval type names, outfits and architecture. I'm personally a fan of Ancient Greek and Rome which is another reason I prefer Conquest, but it's really a matter of preference and both are amazing.
//Also, I wrote this before I found out spoilers which I promise to not tell but I will just say you will cry...and also whatever you do, if you end up getting Birthright PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you get on A Rank with Kaze before Ch. 15 trust me you will NOT regret it that's all I'll say//
