married, working on ceramics at MCC, & doing great. Before school started I went camping with Mary, & all of a sudden the semester is almost over. Right now, I'm enjoying Spring Break, & working on a really cool ceramic "puzzle box"! How are you?

Hey! I miss you a lot Jamez!!
I go to USF in Tampa. I am home every weekend...we need to hang out! Does Kristal or Mary have your phone number?
My major here is art...I haven't picked out a specialization yet. It might be photography, or it might just be studio art.
So what are you doing these days??

Thank you! And I can always use critiquing on my photographs, so go at it if you'd like. I'm set on improving and I need people to crititque me if I'm ever going to do that.

You're welcome! I took a look at your gallery...
Here are some things I thought might help: first, try taking more pictures that look less like snapshots. (You've already started to take a step in this direction ) Try to find something around you (it could be something normal) and take a picture of it, but try to make it as unique as possible. It may mean doing it from a different perspective or angle. But in any case, remember: good photography isn't about a good subject, it's about how the subject is presented. Many great photos present their subjects different than we would normally view them everyday.
Also, when using flash, try to take the pictures from a position in which the picture wouldn't look overexposed. It may mean moving back a little bit, reflecting flash off of a mirror, diffusing it with a piece of paper, or even not using it at all.
If you really want some inspiration, I suggest checking out all the awesome galleries on this site...there are quite a few good ones around here who don't necessarily have a good camera, but a good eye for what makes a terrific picture Hope this helps!

i never thought of diffusing the flash with a piece of paper, but thats a good idea. Often I need some flash, but it ends up just being too bright. Thanks for all the advice.
