Well, I have a lot of OS and they are open, but nobody is making characters of the species. What do you suggest? Are they bad species?

There not bad, Some are just adorable. I see nothing wrong with them.
So, maybe try making adoptables? Someone out there would like to have one.
Try selling them cheap like 50p each or draw to adopt. I would start making 4 at a time.Β
You know, use the line arts and color them nicely. Not to complex, I little simple.
Also put them in adoption groups so a lot of people can see them.

Its because you made the color designs which they didn't. You wasted your time coloring themΒ
and they need to pay for your pre-color designs. People do it all the time. One person I know of
made an open species, s/he made pre-colored designs and sold them for cold hard cash. Rarely points.
I do it when I need the points....
Anyways, its all up to you have you want to sell or give designs away. I know its hard to show people how
great this species is. Even I had a hard time.Β
