hey jessie; i really do miss working the caricature booths (just not the sweltering weather and annoying tourists!). it took me a while to get comfortable with it...as i felt like i was thrown to the wolves when i first started! it's quite a workout for an artist, and it really improved my speed and line quality. where abouts are you doing caricature work and what mediums do you guys work in?

haha, thanks! Yeah, I really love AP Art. Last year my Concentration for AP Drawing was Water (close-up), it was sooo hard, but it really helped me as an artist, since it is something you can't just simply trace over like most things. Water never looks smooth and lifelike when traced over, so I couldn't take shortcuts like I usually would.
This year in AP 2-D Design, my Concentration is Chess, and it's all done digitally (since i own my own wacom tablet now). It's proved to be really fun, but it's shown me that it's not as easy as it looks. lol.
My mom is really into photography, and we've been trying to get her to sell her work for awhile, just getting her to start on the process, with my, and my sister's (she's in PR) help. we'll see how that works out. The upside is she provides me with practically endless reference material of wildlife and scenery.

You are going to Ringling right, I am still waiting on my acceptance letter, my teacher has told me that I will get in, the only thing that I am worried about is not adding any of my figure drawings, I hope it doesn't hurt me in the end. This year in AP Art my concentration are The Reflections of Me and My Friends ( ex: personality or what they are really good at; what type of person they are), so far I have really been enjoying it.
So what are you going to major in, in college ? Do you scan your art when you want to post it on the web, I have a digi-camera, but for some reasons it is really hard to take good pictures of my art, do you have a solution ?

My teachers take care of all the pics, they take digitals and then slides of all our work in class, so i don't really have to worry about it. lol.

About the Pictures I have no scanner and no digital camara, so is there any alternative (I wonder if the school will let me use theirs. HMMM.

Any of my harcopy art I've just been taking photos of with my digital. Scanner's the best bet though, if you can find it.
