Happy first deviant birthday!
Long time no speak! How've you been?

Ah sorry for the insane late reply, don't use this very much anymore.
Ye it's been way too long. I've been great, got my college exams and a job! How are you? What you been up to?
π: 0 β©: 1
Xpumpkin-pieX In reply to Jestiqx [2010-08-29 18:59:01 +0000 UTC]
I figured, but I guessed you probably used it more than bebo.
You managed to get a job?! I've been scouring Galway all Summer and the closest I got was: "sorry, we finished hiring a couple of weeks ago."
I'm pretty good! Finally done with school, so I have a whole year to figure out college stuff now!
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Xpumpkin-pieX [2010-08-30 23:21:12 +0000 UTC]
Does that mean you have a year in college in which you have to figure stuff out or you're taking a year off to figure out which college stuff to do?
Also, by "got" a job I meant "managed to retain" a job (from last year) I'm still pretty pleased with myself.
Great that you're done with school, I hated it! Any plans for the year? Travel, gigs?
π: 0 β©: 1
Xpumpkin-pieX In reply to Jestiqx [2010-08-31 11:47:01 +0000 UTC]
When I posted that it was the latter, but I received an offer for a course I didn't think I'd get. So now it's the former.
Well done! None of my mates were able to keep their jobs, so either way you're doing well!
I wasn't too fond of it either. Gigs or travel would be awesome, but I'm pretty much completely broke. So no plans really, I just intend to get out of the house as often as I can.

It's a portfolio prep course, so it should be fun!

i went to the Liverpool one, it was amazing!
and awh why can't you? i've got tickets for the Manchester one!
and yeah they alternated between cave and unintended, which was nice great to hear
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2009-12-22 03:06:16 +0000 UTC]
No money. It would be an over night thing for me, have to fly out from Dublin. Hope you have a good time, I think it might be a promotion for something, maybe a new DVD or something so it should be good. Might even be the long overdue B side album.
π: 0 β©: 1
Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2009-12-22 11:53:58 +0000 UTC]
awh that sucks i got a friend to buy my ticket for me and i'll pay him back in installments ahhh, coming over from ireland could be difficult and yeah, it would be great if they released a DVD also, there was uproar at the fact they didn't play in Manchester in the latest tour, so that may be another reason.
and yeah, i heard about that there's some awesome B-sides from absolution i think they deserve to be officially released i heard they were going to do an album of their old songs but "performed better" which would be nice i think if they find the time with all the other stuff theyr're doing
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2009-12-22 23:00:04 +0000 UTC]
Ye that would be cool, the whole dead star set and maybe some of the new stuff like crying shame. = ) May be a long time if they plan on rerecording them.
Didn't know they left manchester out on the last tour, I'd say they'll do something big to practice for the big stadium show, when they played here 2 years back they done the extended version of knights because they were going to do V festival afterwards.
π: 0 β©: 1
Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2009-12-26 11:43:40 +0000 UTC]
oooooh yeah that'd be awesome and yeah... but i had to wait about for years from my first gig to the second so i'm used to waiting around for them
and yeah they only did Liverpool, Sheffield, Glasgow (i think) and the O2 arena in the UK on their last tour there was an online protest about them missing Manchester
awwwh wow i'm liking the new introduction to knights by the way with the harmonica, very nice also, are you subscribed to the muse website? if so you would have got a christmas present off them; a video of MK Ultra live from their last tour!!!! which is awesome if you didn't get it i could e-mail it to you if you wish

Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2009-12-29 16:49:38 +0000 UTC]
Same for me 2 years. Me and a mate said we would follow them on their next major tour to make up for it.
Ye I'm a member of that, same user name. Thanks for telling me I must take a look at my emails. I signed in just before christmas to use the media player (which is awesome) dont think I've been on it since. If I didn't get it, it would be great if you could send it to me, I dont have an itunes account so I try to get whatever I can from other sites, just downloaded the two new vids for uprising and undisclosed desires.

Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2009-12-31 22:18:57 +0000 UTC]
yeah yeah i'd love to follow them on tour should have more money for next time they tour too oooooooh that'd be great i searched for you on the members and couldn't find yeh my usernames the same if you want to have a look the present should be in your inbox too and the media player is great it's an awesome website too and i think microcuts is the best site for muse downloads, it's got rare tracks, sheet music, setlists anything you could ever need really
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2010-01-02 13:32:34 +0000 UTC]
Ye the search isn't great on that part of the site, I'll look for you , I'm not that active on it so I don't think I'd appear.
I love that site I used it ages ago for some pictures, but sheet music and downloads? I had now idea there was stuff like that on it, its perfect for me I've been learning some of their songs and its really hard to find the rare ones.
π: 0 β©: 1
Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2010-01-03 15:12:34 +0000 UTC]
thankyou yeah i;m not sure why i couldn't find you, but oh well.
and yeah, its a brilliant site the best resource for any thing Muse i'm not sure about sneet music for the rare tracks but i do have tabs for the groove which i think i got off there what instrument/s do you play btw?
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2010-01-03 19:19:08 +0000 UTC]
Guitar for fun, mainly like classical stuff but I'm not very good. I play bass with a band too, we do some Muse stuff. Do you play anything?
π: 0 β©: 1
Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2010-01-03 19:59:55 +0000 UTC]
ahh classical stuff is great and i bet you're better than you say and i play piano and guitar, piano to an ok level and guitar to a not very good one at all xp but i'ts fun
awwwhhh i'd love to be in a band unfortunately the opportunity hasn't arisen i've played bass a couple of times but it's difficult, my hands are too small >_<
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2010-01-04 01:51:30 +0000 UTC]
ah cool I'd love to be able to play piano, always mean to take it up but I never know where to start. Its the same for me with guitar its a laugh, bass can be a bit hard to play but songs are much easier to learn on it most of the time.
the band is fun and good for learning timing and stuff, we dont take ourselves too serious we're not great and I'm the worst one so its zero pressure for me.
btw I found your profile on muse.mu, I left you a comment in case ya wanted to find my profile, but theres not much point lookin I never really put anything on it.
π: 0 β©: 1
Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2010-01-04 07:44:07 +0000 UTC]
i commented on your profile too just felt like being nice and replying
and i've been playing piano since i was about...6 or 7 i think so i cant really say how i got into it, i just sorta stumbled upon a piano and played it and yeah basslines can be simpler than guitar but i find that technically it can be much more difficult >_< rage against the machine stuff is brilliant to play though
and pffft, dont put yerself down
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2010-01-04 15:53:35 +0000 UTC]
6 or 7? You must be good, I started guitar when I was around 14.
I LOVE ratm the band I'm with wanted to do a christmas song as a joke so it was like a sign when killing in the name got to no.1, I cant wait to try it out. I wish I was just being humble, I've been playing bass for two months (I dont even own one ) and two of the other members teach music.
π: 0 β©: 1
Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2010-01-05 09:57:27 +0000 UTC]
theheee, as said, i'm ok, you can decide for yourself if you ever hear me play but theres a rather remote chance of that
i got my guitar at around 14 too
and wooo! XD ratm are awesome indeed what did you think about the killing in the name vs X-factor thing? theyre basslines are awesome but i only have a guitar to play them on so its not quite as good >_< and ah, well if the others are exceptional at music then i see what you mean but the fact that you're playing with them does say something bout your ablilities
also, on a random tangent, how's the weather where you are, i've currently got a day off cause my college is closed XD
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2010-01-05 21:25:45 +0000 UTC]
Rage Factor? I thought it was great, I'm not a fan of x-factor and I hate the way it monopolizes the charts, never thought it was going to win. Did you see the link on the muse homepage saying we support rage factor?
I have to play on guitar too, it kills me to do uprising on it, sounds so bad.
The weather here is bad. Snow, black ice, really hard to get around and most the transport is out too. My college won't open for a week or too anyway so I dont know if I will miss any time. What do you study in college?
π: 0 β©: 1
Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2010-01-05 22:27:23 +0000 UTC]
Awhhh! yeah! i mean RATM are a key part of Muse's history really so its great they stil supported them i do hate the X-factor and its various clones >_<
yeah i learnt the err.. "bridge" guitar part of uprising on guitar (if you know which bit i mean) but not the rest Yes Please is an extremely fun one to play though repetative, but good finger exercise
and yeah, man, sounds like you got it worse than me, and i've just found out i've got tomorrow off too!!
lucky you getting another week off though
and i study Art, Graphic Design and English at college. what subjects do you do?
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2010-01-06 04:47:41 +0000 UTC]
I think I know the bit you mean, I know nothing about musical terms. Me and my mate (the drummer) worked through uprising with a section we called "the hard bit that goes dum-dum dadadada dadadada". The singer was not pleased, she teaches classical piano.
I use the main bass riff from hysteria as a warm up, sounds great no matter how slow ya play it. I must look up yes please.
Sounds like you got it bad enough, guy on the news said manchester got a foot of snow.
Wow cool, that sounds great, really artistic subjects. I'd love to do something like that, right now I'm in philosophy and theology.
π: 0 β©: 1
Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2010-01-06 11:38:52 +0000 UTC]
yeah yea, the dum-dum dadada dadada bit it what i meant! it's kinda similar to yes please in the format The Groove has a great opening riff too
theheee, wow, talented people in your band and you can never go wrong with hysteria (if that wasn't a song title that would make a very odd sentence >_< )
yeah, the snow is pretty bad here, got nearly a foot of it. no more snow is forcast though, so looks like i'll be back at college tomorrow
yeah, creativity is my thing wow, philosophy and theology? they sound like tough subjects fantastically interesting though
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2010-01-06 16:03:50 +0000 UTC]
Ye the groove is one of my favs. That, fury and futurism for the great openings.
It sucks that you have to start college in this. At least the stuff you do is intresting, I like my classes but they can be a bit dull, its not very hard other than that. Is the art you do in college like the stuff you do for DA?
π: 0 β©: 1
Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2010-01-09 11:21:14 +0000 UTC]
yeahh Absolution's b-sides were brilliant The Resistance hasn't really produced any :/ just a few crappy band's remix's T x T
i know, i've managed to get the whole week off though and missed a driving exam and heh, art is interesting to some extent, not in the fact that it's just jumping through hoops and we have never once been given advice on drawing techniques or actually how to draw T x T but i could have a go at that till kingdom come really
naaah the stuff i do in lesson is very different, we're pretty much not allowed to stylize anything :/ it's mostly experimental, which is really an excuse for people who have no drawing skill at all to get a good mark T x T quantity over quality *sigh* but if i want a coureer in art, i've gotta get the qualifications :/
have you got any ideas where you want to go with philosophy/theology?
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2010-01-10 04:24:41 +0000 UTC]
Ye Absolution has some great ones, I'd love to have that ultra rare box set. Fond of the black holes and revelations b sides too.
The whole week? Nice! And you drive, cool. I'm too lazy to learn, and worried that will get worse if I can sit down while going places walkings the only exercise I get.
My mate had the same trouble in fine art, said it was playing to the weak students and never really done anything good. Good that you want to keep it up after college. I've no idea, maybe prof. or author, its a long way off with my grades. Either that or my band is the next zeppelin.
btw are you on bebo or anything like that?
π: 0 β©: 1
Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2010-01-10 14:30:25 +0000 UTC]
yeahhh, i've been eyeing that up for ages XD although, it is just a LEEETLE bit expensive >_< Absoloution was the first album i bought and the lyrics booklet was lost a long while ago i keep wanting to re-purchase it but can't justify it
and yeah, i only went in on monday looks like i'm gonna be back this week though, which sucks but i've gotta go back at some point though i guess
heh XD i was given free driving lessons which is great but as i haven't passed yet i still walk places, it's the only excersise i get too
yeaaah, theres so much pressure in education to make everyone get good grades now just means the people with exceptional skill don't get noticed and those without pass as "good" :/
oooh author? have you written any short stories? my parents keep telling me to go down the english route 'cause i do like writing, but i dunno, will have to see where life takes me i guess and heh XD that'd be awesome do you write any original stuff for yer band btw?
and i'm not on bebo anymore, or myspace deleted them a while ago. although i do have facebook i was eventually persuaded to join the crowd >_< and msn ofc my facebook page; [link]
i take it your on bebo?
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2010-01-10 19:54:07 +0000 UTC]
Its a lot expensive -_- Β£42 for the dead star single on its own and that was a wide distrabution in its day, can only guess what the absolution thing is worth. Origin was my first, opening of newborn was what made me love it.
Not the best weather to learn to drive but the no college side of it is good, wont be too bad to go back for me only two hour days.
I do like to write but I almost never do it anymore. I also meant the boring kind, academic author. College stuff, maybe military history. Ye best just go with the flow, same with me no big plans.
I'm writing a song now actually, its not too good but I'm gona stick with it. Much to learn
Yes, my question was going to be "is it just me or is everyone leaving bebo?" I run some groups on it, death note and steampunk, so I log in every so often but my friends are never online now. This is the only active site I use. Never really got into twitter. I have an msn but I never set up my facebook page, just blank, must fix that.

yeah yeah that was only released in japan wasnt it? i know spiral static was... its unfair that japan gets so many extra things
yeahhh, im back at college now and it's ok i guess got a huge painting to finish for this friday though you've got two hour days!? luckyyyy!!! i finish at 12:15 on fridays though which is pretty good
awh, would be awesome to see/ hear your written stuff do more! heh, i think people are growing out of bebo... everyon was on it in high school but i hardly know anyone who has it anymore awh nice, a steampunk group! that fashioin is awesome ^^ hey, ever heard of freak angels? its a post-apocalyptic steampunk comic, its online so give it a look and yeah, i'm most active on DA, only go on facebook occasionally. go make yourself one then i can stop spamming your DA page oh and sorry i didn't reply for a while, various things happening and such... so ive been re-watching buffy from season one
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2010-01-18 03:35:22 +0000 UTC]
Ye, Japan gets all the good album stuff too. No studio rejects
I'm back too, well in a few hours. Only found out at 7 sunday night that I was back in. I got two essays, but a huge painting sounds like a bit more to do. Is it important for your result or just homework? And I got my timetable, two two hour days and one off (maybe) other two are nightmares. X(
Even I dont like hearing my own stuff but if I ever put it on the net I'll send ya a link.
Bebo was so fun I just stuck with it, then everyone got all mature and I had no one to talk to. At least I've still got the group things, ye I love steampunk I looked up that comic, is awesome but I want to read it from the start to see what its like. I guess I will make a facebook thing then and I'm also sorry for the late reply computer was being evil. Ah buffy, the floaty bald guys was the best tv scare ever.

Darkshines42 In reply to Jestiqx [2010-02-02 17:03:30 +0000 UTC]
hey hey so sorry i havent replied earlier...again i suck at social networking
and oooh essays? lots of work i've got one to do for english 1500 words :/ that'll be the most boring 3 hours of my life i can tell yeh i have finished the painting now btw the deadline was last friday, i would have worked more on it if i could, but as i said, deadline and its 25% of my overall grade for this module so its quite a bit
oooh speaking of comics, Freakangels, you can read from the beginning on the website and i've also started collecting Y: the last man, which is awesome! basically, everything with a Y chromasome randomly dies, except this guy and his monkey and it's what happened next. The charachter development is really good though. And aaaah, you mean the ones in "hush"? the silent episode? yeah theyre the only buffy bad guys that really creeped me out
π: 0 β©: 1
Jestiqx In reply to Darkshines42 [2010-02-06 14:01:57 +0000 UTC]
No probs, haven't been online much myself.
Ye I just finished all my essays yay!!.....so now they're giving us new ones. Did you put the painting online anywhere? I'd love to see it sometime, don't know many people who paint traditionally.
The comic sounds cool, strange idea for a comic intro, must look it up. And ye that one, hush, was so awesome. I actually seen two vampire movies this week, Daybreakers, which was ok and Thirst which was a bit off the wall but really good. I started looking around for new movies and music recently, got really bored of my old collection, can't find much maybe that comic will keep me busy for a while.
