I'm not worried about that sir. Though i am curious as to how you can do so many pictures in such a short amount of time. You had like twelve Red Sonja pictures in no time. from someone who draws at a snail's pace I'm curious as to how you get them done so quickly?

RobertHack In reply to JimPuckett [2012-01-30 08:52:39 +0000 UTC]

The trick is to take on more work than you can handle, with a looming deadline and work yourself to death. Hmm... I just made myself very sad.
But the more helpful answer is that I did all of these Red Sonja cards in stages. I penciled them all, then inked, then inkwashes, then color(doing all of the red hair in one pass, sepia tones in another.). This was a bit like a one-man assembly line. Not the best way to work, but I had to do 110 sketches for this set.

But I've been doing these kinds of large sketchcard gigs for a few years and it's made me a bit faster. I'm naturally pretty slow, particularly with sequentials, but the more you do it, the faster it becomes. Hope that helps.

It did help. Thank you very much for taking the time to tell me. I only put out one picture a month but I'm usually working on two or three others at the same time.

Thanks! As far as prints go, if it's a high quality image (as far as size mostly I think) you can go to the deviation page and click "Print Not Enabled (Submit as Print)" at the top by "Edit Deviation" and such.

It'll tell you what options are available from your size/resolution/etc. And then you can either change prices or just use their automatic ones.

It's pretty easy

Your words are kind, my dear. Thank you. Though, If I have any say in the matter, might I suggest a small tasteful pocket watch. Preferably silver, partially for looks but mostly for the devil's minions.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ladhida In reply to JimPuckett [2009-11-13 03:07:13 +0000 UTC]

A pocket watch, eh? I refuse to own pocket watches, unless they're adorned with epic studs and shiny materials so I can hypnotize insects with it and turn them into cannibals and watch the circus act of murderous insects while laughing and pointing from a corner. But I guess a silver one would do just fine.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JimPuckett In reply to ladhida [2009-11-13 09:43:24 +0000 UTC]

Cannibalistic does not always mean murderous. What if the other insects were already dead and they were just like Hey, these guys are not really going to be doing anything tonight, wtf, I'll just eat his eyes...But that is besides the point. A circus is in town dammit, and I want to see cannibal bugs walking a high wire of bug guts, or whatever the hell they have. I just asumed they were all just filled with goo.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ladhida In reply to JimPuckett [2009-11-13 10:59:02 +0000 UTC]

Yea, but have you seen some of these insects?! A little slap in the face and they go all Dahmer on you - vicious beings, they are. And yesh, they're filled with goo - squish a bug and it's GOO GALORE! so like, a high wire of bug guts would have to be frozen over to even be walk-able on, or else it'd just slimily bend everywhere with the presence of any slight weight.
I'd like to see the brains of a bug. Seriously. We all know there's got to be a brain in there somewhere - now in which pile of goo would this brain be in?!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JimPuckett In reply to ladhida [2009-11-14 13:50:50 +0000 UTC]

I like you. Your alright. And are we talking Australian bugs or Texan bugs or just bugs in general? Cause, I think ya'll might have us beat in the vicious/viscous bug department. I dunno. I figured anything from Australia is tougher than hell, anyway. (Damn me and my stereotyping. Assuming people and things from other countries could beat what we have. How unamerican of me.)
I figure it would be the pile of goo that the cannibal bugs ate first. That would probably be the most scientific way of figuring it out. And by scientific I mean the easiest. And by easiest I mean the one where I do not have to look anything up. You and your bug gut walking physics, you.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ladhida In reply to JimPuckett [2009-11-15 05:44:56 +0000 UTC]

Yea, Aussie bugs are...inhumanely vicious, it's like they've decided they rule the world and come into your room through the opened window and stay indoors going all like 'Look at me, I own you! Bwahahaha' and then you run outta bug spray and it's like geddout!!!geddoutNOW! but they just fly around being all bloody cheeky and makes you wish you had a bug taser. Seriously. Bug tasers! That would be technology well spent! Ha, it's odd, some aussie stereotypes (maybe, a lot) are true! I'm not actually from here, I just moved here, I move a lot despite my need to stay in one place - I don't know how it works, it just happens.
Maybe the cannibal bugs would eat the crunchy outer layer first before getting to the goo - bugs are really crunchy, have you noticed? It's unnatural!
