I am delighted you would be interested in my opinion but I am indeed a eager visitor of museums wordwide and living in Vienna surrounded by art, this all educates the eye I assume.

To your portfolio: Simular to Randall you seem to have a natural instinct for aesthetics since you beautifully curate your collages. It is more than clear you are inspired by Klimt and Mucha.

If there would be one recommendation I could make it would be this: Ditch using too hyper-famous elements of Klimt in your collages. It is one thing using the style of Klimt -which is Art Nouveau (or Jugenstil in German) - but another thing taking things straight from his most famous pictures.

I might be very strict on this one but I think a collage has to be recongized as your "baby" and not let people constantly think e.g. "oh, look this  from Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I.

However, hope my statement was helpful in any way.

I asked you to reply (not comment) on Randall’s page to make sure he saw this. 
I asked you because I felt you were questioning Randall’s perception of collage. 

So I shall make a copy of this answer and make sure he sees it too. 

When you take photographs you are using other people’s art too.
You did not ask for a critique about your collages, but the point is exactly the same. It is someone’s copyrighted art. I cannot use copyrighted work, (as I sell my collages professionally and in mass production). 

I do get your point about my collage entitled “ In A Field of Flowers”   It is much more derivative than most others. I like to think I made an interesting juxtaposition; freeing Adele from her golden prison, the covering of the eye, etc, etc. But that is besides the point.  Your point is well taken.

I know what Jugenstil is,  and the form of collage I was making was not in any way similar to Art Nouveau. It had none of those elements. Simply because I do not live in Vienna  does not exclude me from understanding a movement within the art world.

That’s a pretty large assumption.  Just because another person hasn’t had the luxury of visiting many countries does not make their eye less educated, whatever  <<< having an educated eye”>>> actually means. Why <<<“but”>>> And what is an educated eye exactly. Sorry but that sounds a bit like snobbery.

We must be lost in translation since I am using one of my three languages not correctly. I thought you were asking specifically my opionion about your art. If wanted to hear a compliment -which I have made- without any addtional remark you should have prepared me.

Greetings from indeed one of the most snobberry cities in the world. I guess beeing surrounded by castle-alike buildings with marmor and gold can turn you into a little princess. LOL

However, I hope all our Egos on this plattform can live peacefully side by side.
