Hi Joe! Nice to meet you!
I'm very impressed by the work you upload here. I've read you use The Motion Book Tool and that you work at Madefire. You guys rock! It's really awsome! You are going to change the way people read comics, for sure!
I would love to try Motion Book Tool! Is there any trial version I can check?
One more thing, how do you make the character move and the background stay still? Do you need a separate .jpg files for background and character, or you can make different layers from a .psd (or something like that) move independently?
Thanks for your time!

Thanks for the kind words!
Right now there is not a trial version, however we are working hard and getting a release version out to the dA community soon.
You do need a separate .png file (we use .png's instead of .jpg's) from the foreground to have a character move, however both can come from 2 different layers in the same .psd file.
I hope that helps!

Thanks! We use proprietary software we are developing at Madefire called The Motion Book Tool- which you can learn a little more about here:
motionbooktool.deviantart.com/
We will be making it available to the dA community as soon as we can (we are still working out the details to make it ready)...so when it is ready I hope you'll give it a try!
Thanks a lot!

How deeply do you need HTML to work with the Madefire app?

You don't need to know HTML at all.

Ok will do thank you.....I recently purchased Motionartist from smith micro but it only allows (as far as I can tell as I am teaching myself the program) for making motion comics but not interact unless you know HTML 5. A small sample of an advert for a comic I am working on that I did can be seen on my facebook page or on youtube under Jim Oriley. Madefire looks more like the tool Id like to work with.....let me know what you find out and thanks again....Jim
