# About me
22, ColoradoActually more like challenges for building my skills. Challenge me to digitally paint something! I really appreciate aesthetics and love art. Beyond words.
As for me, I sketch as a hobby, often getting ideas from pareidolia ; seeing shapes in things like clouds or thumbs of images here on DA! I've drawn and sketched since I was little, with several cluttered sketchbooks to show for it. I love to mess around with Blender , the greatest CG program ever IMHO. I use GIMP for 2D digital work (my planet avatar was one of the first images I made with it, which is in serious need of a revamp).
I enjoy world building, especially designing creatures and planets. And I tend to be a nut for accuracy and bit of a perfectionist, which is both an advantage and a hindrance. I'm also into typography , specifically typographic anatomyβthe shapes and forms of lettersβand phonetics, alphabets and language are also cool. I also love creatures, including paleontology; prehistoric animals. As well as astronomy; planets and stars and stuff.

Are you ever going to make that TRON font? Because I'd like to use it.
π: 0 β©: 1
John-AM In reply to Jared-The-Rabbit [2017-03-11 18:00:08 +0000 UTC]
Well, I honestly don't know, for two reasons. I havn't found a convenient way to make it into a real font yet. But also because it would be based on letters from a copyrighted franchise, I don't want to violate any copyright laws by releasing it. So I'm not sure what I'll do.

No one I know of got struck.
I have an option:
Fontstruct. Just sign up and you'll be able to make any kind of font you want.

John-AM In reply to Jared-The-Rabbit [2017-03-12 00:15:43 +0000 UTC]
I used to use Fontstruct. It was pretty fun! But, at least when I used it, you could use only preset shapes arranged on a grid, which, even as simple as the Tron font is, it still needs a little more precision then that.
(Actually, maybe that was the free version. But I probably can't afford a non-free one, if that's what it is)
I might consider using the "pseudo-font" I currently have and working with others like you to place the text in the imagery you need. Just with some kind of little disclaimer. But I'll have to consider it.

Example of it being able to work:
fontstruct.com/fontstructions/β¦
Or the pseudofont idea will work.

John-AM In reply to Jared-The-Rabbit [2017-03-12 06:06:16 +0000 UTC]
Ah yes, it looks the same as I remember, I believe. Fontstruct isn't precise enough for me. But still cool!
I'll likely go with the pseudo-font if anything. The next couple of months promise to be a bit busy for me though. But I may consider helping you out. No promises at this point though. Will have to consider some different factors.

Have you ever done a future evolution (Speculative Biology) project before?
π: 0 β©: 1
John-AM In reply to SpecJects [2016-10-17 04:31:30 +0000 UTC]
Mmm.. I come up with a few speculative earth creatures from time to time, but they've never really been part of a full 'project'. ButΒ I most often come up with several planets with speculative creatures.

SpecJects In reply to John-AM [2016-10-17 04:35:55 +0000 UTC]
So, what's yours gonna be called?
π: 0 β©: 1
John-AM In reply to SpecJects [2016-10-17 04:39:24 +0000 UTC]
Well, most of the planets I've made will probably end up being in a story I'm working on, so they'll probably probably end up under the same name as that story.

SpecJects In reply to John-AM [2016-10-17 04:40:36 +0000 UTC]
Well, the project isn't about alien planets, it's about the wild future of Earth.
π: 0 β©: 1
John-AM In reply to SpecJects [2016-10-17 05:16:17 +0000 UTC]
Ah. Well I don't really have a full fledged "project" for future earth, so I don't have any name for such.
