Hey again!
I keep looking at your drawings and am just like "how" for about 15 minutes straight.
I just started doing digital drawings, but how do you get texture into your drawings? especially like dragon scales because I've just done a speed drawing of Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon and I dont know how to get the texture to make scales! or make realistic eyes~! Send help? plz lol

Hi Mel, nice to hear from you! Hope you are well. Sorry for the late reply. A lot of the texture you see in my artwork is actually from the brushes I use in Photoshop. If you look up Texture Brushes here on Deviantart I'm sure you'll find heaps to choose from, there may even be one that emulates scales specifically. Otherwise, I just draw very messily, and the act of doing so sometimes gives the illusion of depth and texture. :) (Smile)

Gosh I haven't done anything in a while... I need to get around to posting something new....

Thanks so much I've been looking into it because I've started doing my own digital drawings and I'm doing one of Toothless from "How to Train Your Dragon"
and I just finished drawing a Harry Potter picture which is going on my new youtube :) (Smile)
So I've been trying to master skills more so I can begin developing my own style

No problem Mel! I don't really know what I'll post next. I've been experimenting a lot recently with sculpture and traditional paint in my spare time... Have done some commission stuff which is great too, but they're kind of "exclusive" so I can't show them here... Gosh it's been a while since I posted something. I will definitely get around to putting something up soon!

That's great that you've got a youtube channel! Your Harry Potter artwork is really cute and quirky, I love it. :D (Big Grin) And I really look forward to seeing your Toothless! I'll keep an eye on your gallery for sure. :) (Smile)

I've been doing some traditional painting too - One of a red-eye tree frog actually! It feels so good painting again
I've also been getting request work my latest one was a request to draw Integra Hellsing from Hellsing - that's going to be pretty challenging!

Truthfully I've been quite busy lately, and have spent most of my spare time recently on the graphic novel (at the expense of everything else, unfortunately - wish I could freeze time sometimes), but now that it's the holiday season things are easing up, which is great. Wow! I don't know how to answer now. How do you praise praise without sounding self praising> LOL. I'm always impressed by peuple who can write at length. I have have always suffered from a type of word blindness (took me half an hour to write this) Have to write a sentences backwords slowly before the bugger stops tharashing its tail about on the page.
When I see stuff such as yours that captures me I can go for a line or two before i get literary vertigo-..........
and fall off the next line.......
But anyway I sure appreciate and am truly inspired by what you said about both pictures. Better than a million hits

The feelings are totally mutual friend! I am grateful for your kind words. I have similar issues with writing - it can take me a long time to determine what to write and I've a habit of going way off track. But sometimes, the words just come to me when I look at art, like your own. I'm honored you value my opinion - I'm very humbled by your kind words! I can tell that your mind is fueling with creativity so it doesn't surprise me that words don't do you justice - but that's okay, because your artwork certainly does. :) (Smile)
