Do you go to conventions? Like Fan Expo? Seriously your works are amazing!

Thanks, much appreciated! I used to go to conventions, Fan Expo specifically, but I didn't go this year. I've cut down to focus more on editorial (magazine & newspaper) work.

Do you do requests and art trades?

I'm afraid not! My work schedule just does not allow the time for such things. I appreciate the interest, though.

Thank you! Really glad you liked it! Yeah, man, process stuff is great, everyone likes seeing those. And recording yourself makes you work harder, because you don't want the camera to see you procrastinate too much, haha.

Hey! It's that girl who bothered you about your portfolio and requirements and whatnot. Finally starting it all out and have applied. Kind of scary. Also, I might actually be getting a room at White Oaks. Pretty awesome! Anyway, thanks for everything REALLY! <3

JoriB In reply to Ward-Draws [2011-01-25 17:23:58 +0000 UTC]

Hey, no problem! Best of luck on your portfolio! And yes, haha, it is very scary. We've all been there.

Just wanted to say a big thank you for posting your portfolio to Sheridan ;o;! I'm pretty freaked out about it and seeing yours was great to get an idea of what they're looking for! I especially love the legislative building, I can't believe you had the patience to do all that x'D

So thank you, and keep up the great work <)!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoriB In reply to Lynndoodles [2010-12-16 05:48:29 +0000 UTC]

Hey, thanks, man! Not a problem! Yeah, I was petrified when I was applying, but fear's the best motivator! Yeah, that legislative building was tough, about five hours sitting on the lawn in front of it. I think I managed to get a sunburn in February.

Pretty ballin'. I'm a housekeeper at the Sheridan Residence, it's not a bad gig. How's yours?

secretasianthor In reply to JoriB [2010-05-18 16:37:34 +0000 UTC]

I've been job hunting but otherwise just been working on some comic stuff , I can't wait to show em but I'm still working on it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoriB In reply to secretasianthor [2010-06-02 22:20:17 +0000 UTC]

How's your comic going, dude? I'm actually working on one too! It's really short, designed specifically so I can actually finish it, because I've never finished any comic projects I've started

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

secretasianthor In reply to JoriB [2010-06-03 04:19:22 +0000 UTC]

It's goin! I can't say too much on progress but you will see it soon! SOON ENOUGH!

I sound like a 50's car salesman reading what I just told you lol. But I hear you on projects. When you're working with someone there's a bigger pressure to get things done, so I've found that to be helpful. And dude, if you wanna collab someday, I'm down!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoriB In reply to secretasianthor [2010-06-03 11:53:33 +0000 UTC]

Haha, cool dealio man. It's hard work.
Yeah, I could see that. I do find it really easy to procrastinate, or make never-ending minor edits/improvements, when I'm working for my own enjoyment. Cheers, dude!

secretasianthor In reply to JoriB [2010-06-08 08:35:07 +0000 UTC]

UGh procrastination is the greatest enemy to anything. I hope to show the pages soon and just keeping yourself motivated works well. Podcasts in general help me out, and there's a lot of comic podcasts. I'll email them on FB since there's a bunch I'd recommend.

This is pretty out there but I have to say: I LOVE YOU!! Your portfolio was the only example I could find online for illustration and it was so helpful. Thank you so much for posting it, if only more people would.
I have to say, I LOVED your historical building & the house drawing (which I think you actually have on here, so I will fav away).
Anyways, I will "watch" you on DA since you're work is helpful and inspiring to look at. Can't wait to see what else you post

Ohi! I am so amazed at the fact that you are one of the only other sheridan illustration students out there who actually put up your portfolio as an example and you have helped me out so tremendously... thank you! I hope to maybe see you around on campus? *crosses fingers*

much love <3

I am actually! haha Although I did get into Art Fundies (my back up prog). The program co-ord, Morse was it? told us about the chances of getting in and it's pretty freaking scary. In complete honesty, I'm not even sure what Art Fundies is all about, but I was told it was a portfolio building course... although an entire year (and $3000) of building a portfolio for the illustration program seems a bit of an overkill... would you mind if I added you to msn? or some other form of IM? lol
