That's probably why I try to avoid characters that can be easily recognized if I don't have an eternity to plan/worry over the details. (Not to mention the materials I want always end up costing a fortune! lol)

The one saving grace of my artistic obsession: much of the bigger pieces can be cobbled together from junk, dollar store fodder, etc. These - [link] - were mostly fabricated from PVC plumbing bits.

I hear that! Most of my jetpack was constructed from scrap wood, PVC (the rockets are PVC pipe, as are the caps and end thingies) and an old ceiling fan I found in my basement. I'm just lucky I'm so obsessed with JoAnn's, or I'd have never found that pleather fabric that covers it and makes up the straps (it was on sale!
