Not much, I come and lurk on the music forums occasionally when I'm bored at work.

I've been meaning to tell you for two months... remember giving me Deathspell Omega recs? I got to meet Shaxul in November when his current band Manzer came to town!

haha my favourite's Si Monumentum but of course, I didn't mention that. The concert was amazing, I got to meet Shaxul because my friend plays bass in this other band, you should check them out: [link] I'd like to hear what you think of Bangladeshi metal.

Quite impressive, and I generally don't even like thrashy elements that much. I see they've gathered quite a bit of exposure (relatively speaking, of course) on RYM and last.fm as well. That's cool.

Yeah they've gotten big, they toured some Asian countries with Manzer and the Japanese band Abigail. It's dear to me because this is the first metal act from my country I've liked, everything else is mostly embarrassing. We're hoping to have Paul Speckmann over sometime this year. We just need to raise enough money.

Yeah he has! We started this little group in facebook called 'Primitive Invocation' just for people to share recommendations and all. People like Paul Speckmann and Eric Cutler were all added to the group and they actually began contributing; it was featured in Brutal Existence Radio, and a couple months later we just need money and logistical help to have these guys over. Primitive Invocation's first ever concert is today, in a few hours. We have these guys called Infernal Curse over from Argentina and our own boys, let's hope all the hard work pays off

Heh not really a manager, but we're all friends and help out. The gig was pretty fun; corny, Argentine black metal pandas most interesting part was a local black metal act with sort of Islamic mythology lyrical content. You don't get much black metal with that, I'd love to hear some if you know of any band that does that?

Are the anti-Islam ones all just regular NSBM or any that actually belong to a Muslim country? The one I was talking about is called Jahiliyyah. I've looked, but can't find their stuff online anywhere.

They're Lebanese (Damaar and Ayat). I especially like Damaar; their (only) EP is among my overall favourite black metal releases. Intense stuff.

I see what you meant by intense haha. I'm listening to the Damaar EP. Interesting Blasphemy cover and the whole thing in general... so bestial. And of course, I enjoyed the opening of the EP, with the Islamic Salah playing.
