On another subject: What tribe is it that you take pictures of? Are you a member of the tribe, or just a friend?

As far as i know , the people who come to the pow wows are not just from 1
specific tribe , but from a few , as the pow wow is open to anyone who wants
to attend .
As to me , i am not a member of a tribe or the ' 1st Nations ' ,
just a run of the mill regular ' Canadian joe ' and casual friend at these events .

Hi , no apology required , i did not even remember that they are a Mohawk tribe ,
and had to look it up on Wikipedia .
The pow wow is usually in the same place on the reservation on the 2 nd weekend
of July -- every year -- and lasts for 3 days [ friday , sat & sun ] . last year was the
21st annual one, if you would like to find out more about these people , go to
Wikipedia and type in " Kahnawake " this is the name of their reservation .
the 1st entry on the wiki page seems to be pretty complete.
also any other entries that have Kahnawake / Montreal in the header will have
info on them , as the reserve is just across the river from montreal .
i plan on going again this year , so i should have some more photos to post in the fall .
