Listen, non of us is confident. We just play it cool.
Most of the time, I'm not confident because to ME my work is shit. But when I get the praise from someone and they say I improved, only then i'll feel good. But for a brief.
Sometimes, putting yourself down about your work is good to make you do MORE and improve. but not to the point where you discourage yourself. Because you love this, you want to be the best in it. Don't give up on it.
