# About me

I'm an engineer, a builder, and a creator of things. I can see the possibility in so many simple parts to become much more than they are. I dabble in so many different hobbies it's wonder I have time for any of them.

1.) Restoring old homes/renovation.
2.) Designing and building custom LED and NeoPixel Lightsaber props.
3.) All sorts of metal work, and powder coating.
4.) Electrical projects, from circuit design, to hand etching and fabrication.
5.) Programming (it's what I make a living doing, after all).
6.) Custom sculpting for diorama setups, along with small light wiring for thm.
7.) Car work - and a collector of British sports cars. :D
8.) Outdoor things such as hiking, occasional help at animal rescues, and general wilderness exploring.

And probably more that slip my mind right now. I'll probably be posting some of my custom saber work here, as well as any projects I deem interesting.

Because you asked for some a few days ago, and I just saw it.  It's not like it cost much!

You are most welcome!  I'm not an artist, so I can't contribute on that front.  But, I can contribute some on the financial front.  If I find something I like, I always try to give back to the creator in some way in thanks for the enjoyment the creation gave me.  And besides, I'll always support someone who supports bats.  Beautiful and very misunderstood creatures.

Yes! It’s so hard to find people who appreciate bats. It always puts a smile on my face when I meet someone who does. I also just saw the other donation and I nearly passed out. XD Again, thank you so much for the support. I hope I’ll repay it through my future works.

No repayment necessary!  Any artist or writer that uses Patreon or similar to get donations tend to get a heavy donation by me if I like their work.  For the past few days I've really enjoyed reading the two stories.  So, thank you for the work and enthusiasm that is evident in it.  It likely won't be the last donation from me.

Anyway, apologies for rambling.  Not that many I can geek about bats and Silverwing with.

I was a little worried I had hit a 'ut oh, this guy is a nutjob' level.  I always get a little worried when I talk to someone and start to geek out a little about a subject that I might go too rambly to the point of scaring them.  There are plenty of crazies in the world and everyone has to be vigilant about that.

No, don't worry I didn't think that at all. It's good to see that your are passionate about Silverwing! ^^

Oh good. Glad to hear it. I also saw you do commissions. Are you open? I may want to get a Silverwing styled drawing of my long running bat toleplay character if you were game to do so. Absolutely willing to pay well for it.

Certainly! Note me what sort of commission you would like.

Us bat weirdos have to stick together.   I've been RPing a bat-based character in an online text-plot thing that's been running for ... oh lord, 18 years now.  Crap, where did time go?  And I even built myself a custom lightsaber prop that has a stylized bat face etched into the emitter shroud.   So .. yeah, I'm a bit of a fan of them and when I spotted the Silverwing DVD years and years ago (probably not long after it came out), I glomped onto that.  I was sorta shocked to learn two things about it recently:

1.)  It's now extremely rare and hard to get!     I think I paid like $12 for it when I bought it, and now they go for a hundred more often than not.

2.)  There is supposedly a blu-ray version around somewhere (I've found box art for it), but I have alas yet been able to track it down.  I really want a high-def version that is true 16:9 and not letter-boxed DVD.  Oh well, maybe some day.

Yeah, I was super lucky to buy my copy for about 20 bucks and that was like... 2 years ago?
I still think the blu-ray is a rumor. xP They only make those for movies/shows that sell. Silverwing is unfortunately very unknown as both a book series and a cartoon, at least in the USA.

I am actually currently attempting to try to convert my DVD set to a Blu-ray set. it wouldn't be as good as an actual BluRay but I can remove the top and bottom black bars and get it in the 16 by 9 aspect without losing any of the actual video. I've been doing test runs of upscaling it to 1080p and trying to see what adjustments I can make to clean it up as much as I possibly can at that resolution

Sounds super complicated and time consuming. But it also sounds like it would be worth it in the end. :3

It can be difficult, yeah. The more steps you go through, the more artifacts you introduce. And then there is dealing with the ntsc interlacing on top. Plus with animations, straight lines often look a little jagged. Right now each episode consumes about 2 hours of an 8 core cpu setup. The results arent bad, but I want to see if I can get it a little better.
