Hallo Kairistion! Ciamar a tha sibh? : )

I haven't talked to you in a while and I am apologetic about that. How have you been lately? Keeping busy? Reading books? I hope books are in your schedule, otherwise life would be lacking greatly; something of which I can attest to.
We should do something sometime when you're available (although we have to wait quite a while for the release of the second installment of The Hobbit... why December?! Why!?!)
I hope you're doing well! Talk to you later!
~Chelsea

Tha mi gu math! Arrigato gozaimasu, Mephi-chan!
So lovely to hear from you! It's absolutely no problem at all, I know how busy life can get. But I've been doing really well lately, thank you so much; I've been planning my trip to Europe (England and France; I wish so much I could include Scotland too, but I'll have to wait until I'm wealthier^^)
And how have you been lately?
Ironic you should mention having books in my schedule; I was in the library just two days ago. But yes, I'm keeping busy, I've started learning Japanese for some unknown reason, lol. But I really like it; no language has ever made me sound so cute before And since watching Les Misérables I've started reading the book and that's going to keep me occupied for a significant length of time. (76 pages/15 chapters read, just another 1400 to go....*gulp*)
But I'm still happy, five years ago when I tried to read it, I had to look up every other word in the French dictionary and didn't get past chapter 1. It's still going slowly, but at least it's going
Though it sounds like you haven't had much time to read lately?

I'd love to! Anything in particular you had in mind? Most days I'm free in the late afternoon (around 4ish-onward) So hopefully things will work out with your schedule as well. Though have you seen The Host yet? When a short trailer makes Chelsea consider moving past her bias against Stephanie Meyer, that's pretty significant But admittedly I think your opinion of the movie will be more entertaining (and significantly more intelligent) than the movie itself ^_^
I know! So sad!! But at least the third Hobbit is in June. Still soo far away though. But that means more time to plan out Hobbit outfits, right?

Talk to you later!

Glé mhath! Konbanwa, Kairi-chan! (Hooray for mixing languages!)

Yes, life has been busy, and it's not even school and homework that is making my life hectic.

A Europe trip! That is wonderful! Make sure you take approximately one-thousand pictures! Possibly more. Definitely more. If you somehow sneak into Scotland... just record the whole trip with a video camera instead of pictures XD

Japanese is such a fun language! I sometimes use it for cute effect as well! I have one friend who is really into the Japanese culture (or rather the American version of Japanese culture) so we toss in the occasional Japanese honorific and random words into daily conversation. It's rather fun!
I think you'd be really good at Japanese. How much do you know thus far? Are you going to become fluent in it and then take a trip to Japan with me?

I never got to watch Les Misérables though I've wanted to. It's a fantastic story (though I never had time enough to even attempt the book, so good for you! I am impressed!)
I have not done much reading at all. It's actually caused my quality of life to take a slight downturn. I hope that over the Summer I will have time enough for giant novels. I think I'll compile a list of books to read. Do you have any books that you'd recommend for your everyday, typical stressed-out graphic designer?

This is true, I will not lie; when I first saw a trailer for The Host... I was intrigued and I wanted to see it. Yes, I think she's rather awful, but I will definitely put aside my utterly biased opinion of her work and at least watch it because it does look interesting. I'm rather wondering if it will stand up to my opinion... or will it cause my brain to explode, causing random noises to emit from my mouth.
I'm usually free after 4pm as well; I got a two-month graphic design job at my college (yay!), so my schedule is a bit tight. After 4 works wonderfully for me!

I should just start planning my Hobbit outfit now! (I actually really want to do that... because it's the best thing and it would be so fun!)

See you soon! ^-^ ~Chelsea

^_^
Has it been your job at Shasta College in conjunction with school/homework that's making your life hectic? Or just life in general?

Oh, don't worry about me taking pictures. With even just a few days in Yosemite I had hundreds of them--England and France are sure to garner much more than that
Oh definitely! Scotland is not Scotland without those wonderful accents and pictures can't capture that. Hopefully I'll meet a Scottish person or two while I'm in England, though But while I'm in France, I'm planning to go to the Louvre--is there any particular artist's work you'd like me to take pictures of or some sort of souvenir you'd like to have until the day you travel there yourself?

And Japanese is so different from any other language I've come across; it really is a lot of fun. You have awesome friends, by the way You probably know more Japanese than me--thus far, I know basic greetings, random words, and song lyrics. And around half of the hiragana syllabry.

Well, as far as the new film goes, I'd watch it again if I muted the sound and played an actual musical recording instead. ^^ The majority of the cast were actors who could kind of sing (Russell Crowe excepted who really cannot sing); for Les Mis, I personally prefer singers who can act. But you're right, the story is fantastic. Long, but fantastic Don't be too impressed, it's taken me five years to read 76 pages, lol.

*Hugs* Summer's almost here Giant novels? Les Miserables certainly counts. War and Peace is another one in my all-time favorite book list. And in my opinion, you can never go wrong reading Jane Eyre again
But I'm not quite sure as to what your taste in literature is? Could you give me a few examples of what you feel like reading? Because quite a few of my favorite books that I can think of at the moment are really obscure classics/historical fiction whose intended audience probably wasn't the everyday typical stressed-out graphic designer living in the 21st century
(And just a side-note, all the graphic designers I've met have been really special and fascinating people

She *is* rather awful, lol, your opinion is completely justified and shared by many others. But for me, that's part of the charm of the Twilight series. Judging from the reviews I've read of The Host, probably the latter...maybe the only good scenes of the movie were in the trailer But this is all what makes Stephanie Meyer fun, lol. Except the brain exploding part of course. ^^

Awesome! How do you like it? Do you do posters, brochures, websites, or something else? So did you have anything in mind to do? If the Host results in your brain exploding, it'll probably be best to come up with a back-up plan ^_^
Would you happen to know the link to the Hobbit dress you posted on Facebook a while back? I actually really liked that dress

It's just life in general really. I've been out of my comfort zone a ton lately. I was a camp counselor for Jr Highers from my church, and then I became a leader in said Jr. High ministry... and I'm in the young adult ministry, school, life and all the world. It wears me down.

I learned most of what I know from anime... which is actually pretty sad although I don't watch too much anime. I know a few songs in Japanese too. Songs are a great way to get a feel for the structure of the language.
I have a very interesting mix of friends and I love them all. They are very cool! You included for sure!

You're planning to go to the Louvre?! That's wonderful! Definitely one of my dreams.
Anything by the Northern/Dutch Renaissance artists like Vermeer, Van Eyck, Jan Davidsz de Heem... just look for beautiful paintings of food, shiny dishes, and vibrant red accents.
I'm not even sure what they have at the Louvre to be honest, I just know it's a wondrous place for an art lover! I think they have some ancient works too!

My taste in literature is basically everything. Romance to architecture, biographies to science fiction. Just as long as it in my vernacular, I will read it.
I've been planning to at least start War and Peace... but that was a few years ago and I don't even have a copy of it yet. I guess I'll have to go to a library soon! (Jane Eyre was a wonderful book! It's been so long since I've read it.) I'll probably try Les Mis too if I can find a copy.
I'm one of those graphic designers that loves everything.
(I know a few graphic designers, they can be really nice and interesting... but they are usually just that... interesting. XD Not a bad thing though if I say so myself. XD)

Yes, I will admit, despite her awful way of writing, it is entertaining.
I bet the best scenes were in the trailer too. At least it would be good for poking fun at XD She had a clever idea, but... I don't believe she can actually pull off telling the story without being ridiculous. I really hope my brain stays intact after viewing.

I do like my job quite a bit! I do a lot of posters... a LOT of posters. It's amazing how many people work with the Shasta College Marketing division on a daily basis. It's a bit stressful with so many things, but I'm getting used to the speed at which me work.

In case of my brain exploding... or imploding, depending on the content of the movie... I actually don't have a back-up plan... we should think of something though.

I will go searching for the hobbit dress. Was it the map one? The one with the cute leaf of Lorien pin? I loved that dress too.

Oh now I definitely understand. But I really admire you for doing something so significantly out of your comfort zone, and with rambunctious junior highers, no less ^^ I would have no idea what to say to one of them; it's been so long since I was one myself and I never was a typical 7/8th grader either. But please don't forget to take some alone time out for yourself too; from experience I know how important that is

Me either--the only anime film I've seen that I've really loved so far was Grave of the Fireflies, but it's definitely not the type of film you want to watch very often. *tears up just thinking about it* But I love Japanese cinema, samurai, and even some J-pop, so that's helping me learn.

A trip to Paris simply would not be complete without visiting the Louvre. Great! I'll keep those artists in mind when I visit the Dutch/Flemish art part of the museum. Yes, they do, and there's a large Egyptian collection displayed there, so I'm really excited to see that. Squee!

It's really awesome that you have such a wide variety of interests, but on the down side it makes it a little difficult to narrow recomendations down Still, the three books I mentioned really are great novels But another giant novel just popped into my head--David Copperfield. Dickens is definitely not my favorite author (Great Expectations ended up in my barbecue after I read it for freshman high school English class and promised myself never to read a Dickens novel willingly ever again....I was 14, I was a little dramatic at the time^^) but I have to say I really liked the story. Granted, Dickens being the typical Dickens, he buried it under a mountain of useless words, but if you keep digging through it, maybe you would like it as well.

I know nothing's like reading an actual book, but if you have some spare time but no hardcopy, virtual copies of classics are easy to find online since the copyright has long since expired. Here, for example: [link]
The translations of non-English books are usually older, though, which has some pros and cons.

Interesting. That's the best word--there's never a dull moment whenever you spend time with graphic designers xD

Entertaining like watching a train wreck..you just can't look away, lol. Something like the concept of The Host is, I think, impossible to really portray on screen, hence my curiosity of how it was pulled off. (or not^^) So would you like to go see it in the theater, or would you rather just wait until Netflix has it? If the latter, I'd be perfectly happy meeting up for coffee/hot chocolate in whatever your favorite place is if that works for you. Perhaps coffee will inspire some more spontaneity on my part ^_^ But I'm completely open to doing something different if you'd like, though

Yes, that's the one-- I was thinking of the dress with the map of Middle-Earth on it But if you have both links, I'd love to see both of them! Thank you so much, I know it was a long while ago.
