I'm so sorry that you didn't get enough comments on your good art. When I first started putting my art, my talents were total crap. The first deviation you put looks so good. I just started practicing my figure drawing on late October of 2012. You probably know me as dominique squire on Gaia. At least I'm not giving up. You shouldn't give up drawing either, keep trying.

Most of the tutorials I first learned from aren't online anymore, unfortunately. [link] is one of my favourites, though it's not strictly about colouring, it's got a huge amount of information about a lot of the stuff that goes into it. [link] and [link] are the two that were my favourites from , whose site isn't around anymore it looks like.

I'm not sure any of those mention one thing that can be pretty important with Photoshop is holding down alt when you're painting (I believe it's ctrl on the gimp? Not sure about anything else) to use the eyedropper without having to change tools. It's a great help for blending with a harder brush, because otherwise it's really hard to get the in-between colours for a more natural transition.

It's a little of both. It's great to be able to do something when I see something that needs to be fixed. It makes it worse that I can't fix everything, though, and that there are people who expect me to.

A bit like being a mod anywhere, really.
