Thanks for the fave! Hold in there whilst getting into 3d, i'm doing the same as well - it's a lot of fun most time (usually modelling imo) but can get really frustating at times (rendering and anything to do with particles ).

No problem!
No need to worry, been working on 3D for a couple of years, I have just been lazy lately, haha. Been using 3ds Max but only have only really been doing environments, not characters or rigging (rigging can be painful!).
Which field of 3D are you most interested?

Ah then you're far more experienced than i am! I've only been playin' with it for a couple of months so i'm still trying my hand at all parts of animation, wanna make a short film eventually.
Been learning Maya mostly wich is maybe way i find it frustrating at times, it's pretty full-on!
Tried a bit of rigging and it was indeed very fiddly... i did make this whale-thingy move using just deformers :[link] (model is ugly tho )

Ah i checked it out, there's some cool stuff in there: i like the dwarf face - i tried a bit of face-modelling in Mudbox but it really went wrong, perhaps i should try zBrush. I also like the futuristic city, how are coming along with Mental Ray rendering? It's really complicated isn't it

Sadly, not working on Mental Ray rendering anymore. Yeah, it is complicated, tons of options, also takes a really long time to render though. Getting into real-time lighting.
Zbrush is great! Although the interface can be a bit scary, it's a great and powerful program nonetheless! Good luck!
