# About me
It's nice to meet you. My name is Conna, like Donna but with a k sound...Half the people I meet get my name right, the others don't. But I don't let that bother me too much.
I'm 21 years old and have always felt I was the unique person out of my generation in my family. Out of my direct family, I am the only one with red hair while the rest of them are blonds and brunets (brunettes are all on my mother's sister side and mixed on my dad's side). I'm also the only one that I know of with an extreme interest in art. Art in my family has skipped a few generations. On my mom's side the last person who really drew was a great grandfather (I don't know how far back) who's work was published by the New York Times(or some other famous paper), and on my dad's side it's my Great Uncle, but not so big. He mostly does frames but he was also probably the one who has always kept me going and to never give up on art no matter how frustrating it got. Plus, his and his wife's artwork is just absolutely beautiful, I'm surprised they aren't famous.
Ever since I was really little I've always had an interest in drawing, be it on the walls, paper, or just the kitchen tiles/table. I've always taught myself how to draw and how to pretty much do anything because I didn't like following the rules, and it really made a huge outcome on my art. Before high school I never took an art class, and then when I did take a class in school, the teachers couldn't teach me anything about art that I had already proven to them I knew about naturally.
My freshman year of high school I tried taking an animation class to see if that was where I wanted to go in a possible future career. It seemed so awesome at first, but then I soon found out how truly difficult it was, and out of the entire class I was one of the five people who received an A in the class, which still to this day still astounds me.
Sophomore year I was unable to take an art class because of how my school structured my schedule, but I did take Art 2 and Advanced Drawing and Painting my last two years of high school. When I took Art 2, really, the only thing I was taught was how to mix the paints and different styles of brush strokes you can create. Then they just left me to my work and I taught myself through the experience.
I really began drawing in middle school when Anime caught my attention. I would just freeze the TiVo and draw what was on the screen, and ever since my love of drawing has increased more and more with each thing I discover I can draw just by looking at it.
I'm now in my last year at the Academy of Art University of San Francisco online and am really enjoying it.
My friends mean the world to me, even the ones who don't see me as friends anymore, still take a big portion of my heart. When I am unable to hang out with my friends and when I'm not at work or school, I usually draw, read, or play video games, and now have a YouTube channel with my Fiance and friends. I've sadly fallen pretty behind in my school work thanks to my choir class last week (we had two performances in a weekend) so we had double practices that really screwed up my schedule. But thankfully it's almost over!
