I have a question. Would it bother you when I write to you from time to time?

Hello
I like your work with Copic Markers. They are simple and staight but define the things very clear. (uh, I'm not good with such things -_-" )
Ahm...I don't know but can you give a hint for the work with Copics?

Aw, thanks. And, sure, I can tell you what I know about it.
One of the things that I do is use illustration board since it's too thick for the markers to bleed through (I get nervous about that sort of thing).
Another is that I tend to use a test piece of illustration board to try out out the markers before I use them since different types of paper can take the color differently and I don't like getting caught off guard it a color isn't what I expected. I tend to choose out all of my colors before I put down any on the actual piece.
After the first layer of a color is dry, I tend to put extra layers on top for shadows (I'm pretty sure plenty of people do it that way, but I'm not sure how much you've tried them). Sometimes, I'll also add a darker shade on some spots if the shadow isn't as dark as I think it should be.
The motion I I tend to use is using the small pointed nib side of the marker and making small circles as I go around. If it's a large area, it's better to use the chisel side for coverage, but it's good to stay aware while using that side since it's bigger and has a different shape to it (I'm used to pencil and brushes; if you tend to use brushes as well it might be good to go for copic sketch markers since on side has a flexible nib that acts sort of like a brush and the other side has a smaller version of the chisel nib from the copic original markers; also the sketch markers are slightly cheaper than the original since they're smaller and hold less ink).
It's also good to slowly amass different colors and shades so that it's easier to get exactly what you want.
Other than that, I'd say practice and test until you get what you want out of it. It really does help since the more you do it, the less timid you'll be about it (I was pretty intimidated when I started out, but I'm starting to get more comfortable with them).
Also, if you want to do sketch cards as well (or use them for small-scale practice), I use pre-cut ones from this site: [link] It's also the site I buy my copic markers from.
And sorry this is so ridiculously long, I hope some of it helps you out.
