I'm really encouraging you to step away from 40k fan-art and create something completely new that you can call your own. Maybe somewhat inspired by 40k initially but yeah.

You know what? Yes. That's what I'll do. 40k has mostly lost it for me and my fanarts are more often than not attempts to improve it. So why the hel not do something original. Only problem is, however sad it may sound - fanarts get you views, watchers and in general, attention. I've seen galleries with tons of great original art that no one watches. Sad.

Well in regards to that, there are untold dozens of various Fantasy/Sci-fi related groups that you can join. I mean, dozens of them. And several take a daily dose of 40k-related art.
I would though go ahead and announce something in your journal so that all of your watchers can let others know that you are doing so. Also if you have followers who comment but aren't watchers I would say something to them like "you won't see a lot more of 40k fan art anymore because I'm doing my own thing, so be aware".

Nah, our project died when GW shut down all fan movies - as Damnatus was our main source of motivation, its apparent death at the time crushed team's morale.
