Thank you much sir. So far, so good. Haven't gotten to any zombies yet - should be next week - but have had plenty of car scenes.

Actually, I was thinking either this: [link]
Or this: [link]
Granted, the latter is more frightening.

Thanks much. Gotta say though, major points for the Chthulhu plush doll - whoever can make absolute terror a thing that has to be hugged gets some mad respect. Cheers.

Wow man, sorry to hear about your dad being sick - but great news that he's better and coming back home; that's awesome!
Same here; wishing you, your fam, and the 6 Point guys the best. Whenever I've got a random playlist going while drawing, a Nujabes>/i> track will pop up (one of those Samurai Champloo spins that has that perfect blend of jazz, R&B, and hip hop), and I catch myself thinking: "Man, Ang must be driving by my house again." Cool vibes and all.
Take care man.

Dude, I am glad to see that you are still around. You were not updating for so long, a while back, I figured that RL had taken over, and We Deviants were a thing of the past, for you. Personally I understand, that concept all too well, since I took over a year off from drawing anything. I have loved you style for as long as I have been on DA, which is longer than this gallery has been up... You MIGHT remember me better from but maybe not, it has been a long time since we talked much...
Peace

Hey there. Yup, sure do remember; good to see you still around.
I figured the same thing you did, that most everyone else made the exodus from dA this past year - hence, the fewer updates. Plus, being picky about what I want to upload, what I think is worth showing off out of the sketchbook - which is few and far between at times, but enough to keep the sketch blog going per week.
...And you know, I remember something about a print? Drop me a note when you get a chance to jog my memory. Like you said: RL - for as surreal and mundane as it's been at times.
Anyhow, thanks for the word. Cheers.

Wow! I love your work, especially your character designs. It's also nice to see someone who draws Neanderthal men convincingly and not like brutal apes. Will be watchin' ya...

Khylov In reply to Speshulsnowflake [2009-05-31 22:09:10 +0000 UTC]
Much appreciated; thank you.
And yup, I think Neanderthalers have gotten a bad rap over the past 100 years, thanks mostly to folks like Marcellin Boule, not to mention the Chicago Museum reconstructions from the 1920's that look like walking carpets.
Given that, is always a challenge to take the underdog of any subject and to present them in a more realistic light, but still giving leaving room for empathetic character traits or moments. I think it's a great exercise for character artists or story folks to do.
Thanks again for stopping by; cheers.

Ayup! I actually think that, considering your skills, you are underappreciated here. Facial features besides ginormous eyes, triangular noses and slit mouths aren't very hip anymore.
(Don't want to say that all anime styles are bad, I think Capcom are gods in character design, but one of the reasons I stopped drawing anime is because it flattens facial features. Imagine drawing an anime Neanderthal...)
