so good to hear from you buddy!! kinda relieved, even - it must've been at least ... a year or more?

Nice that you're on a journey! As it happens, i'm on one too; i've quit my engineering job and am on my way to a diploma course in 3D modeling and animation. Figured that there's no better time than the present to start looking for what i'd love to do for the rest of my life.

Whenever you're free for a sit, do share your adventures with me, man. I'd be all ears!

What's up my friend!  I read your update from January, it looks like there's been a lot going on, I know we talked a little on gmail a few months ago but i hope everything has been going good for you with your new degree and drawing.  Your inktober works on facebook are great, I really like them.

As for what's been happening with me I quit my job too and moved to New Mexico on a whim, that's pretty much all, oh and i got my computer fixed so ive kind of started drawing again.

Heeyy! Nice to see you're doing well does that mean you'll be getting a job in new mexico? How's life like over there, is it dangerous there..? I'm thinking gun violence, but i could be confusing it with the actual mexico OTL

Welcome back to drawing!!! I miss your trippy illustrations and if you post them up on facebook i'll be sure (and extremely happy) to see them

I'm actually in a diploma course right now in 3d modeling, animation and vfx (specialization in 3d modeling). I haven't updated my Update, but after a semester into Industrial Design, i reviewed my options and interests (and finances), and decided to drop out of the expensive 4-yr degree programme in favor of joining this cheaper and more practical 1-yr diploma course i'm currently in. Which is great, because after an entire existence of being conditioned by the education system to always follow the beaten path, i guess i have finally broken free, and come to terms with myself and what it is that i really want to do.

I'm guessing you must've made lots of new experiences and discoveries too; your facebook posts depict quite the adventure! it must be nice to hit the road and just go someplace new.. but i dunno, i might not be able to handle a journey like that. Too much on my shoulders - but sometimes i don't even know who put them there, yknow, maybe it's all psychological

Sure missed that slowpoke display pic of yours

Can't wait for Sun and Moon to hit the stores..!

wow im glad you have come to an existential realization about what you want to do! that's awesome, some people never do or just bury it beneath lots of other things.  I've realized that music and playing the trumpet is like that for me, i quit ~10 years ago cuz i was angry at lack of progress and stupid but now i wish a lot that i had finished my education in that area.  Now that i really want to, i cant go back to a good school because its so expensive, when before i had scholarship money, grants and loans, etc.  And there is a really good art/music school in Santa Fe! lol.  But I figure i will find some people to play with eventually and work back up to it.

Yes, Im looking for jobs too, i actually have one i guess already, im just waiting on them to process me to start, which i have no idea when that will be.  I actually had to turn down a couple other ones which i kind of regret looking at the situation now, but i cant go back so oh well.

Santa Fe is really peaceful, I dont think there's a whole lot of gun violence or anything, that's probably Mexico with the cartels and all.  Altho supposedly there is gang violence etc in Albequerque but Santa Fe is smaller and more artsy, a lot of rich people live here.

I think you could do a journey, I did my first journey traveling when I was 21, I just got fed up with where i was and what i was doing and got a job on the other side of the country, it was great fun.  Driving was easier for me then tho, now I have developed an inexplicable fear of driving and I dont know what to do about it.  Hopefully it will come back to me in time...but for now I can walk most places, since we are located in a pretty central area with lots of stores and such.

3d modeling sounds really fun, Im about to go look at some of your stuff!
Yea and pretty excited about sun and moon too, i like the new mons so far, like for example sandygast, idk why but that is so cool to me he's just a possessed lump of sand but whatever.  Im wondering about if there will be new breeding mechanics, that was my favorite thing to do in x y.  maybe ill have to set up a new breeding shop on smogon and whatnot good talking to ya man, have a good one

Wow, the trumpet! sounds trippy but yea, it sounds like it'll totally suit you somehow..! I think it's great that you're still incubating the idea of going back to it, and who knows, when you go back to it with a different perspective and experiences, you might be able to engage it with a fresh angle and see it through.

It's nice to know that your neighbourhood is peaceful - and artsy! - sure is a relief haha.

hahaa, yea i can relate to a fear of driving too. As an infantry scout during my time in national service, i was required to drive a jeep, and for the life of me i just couldn't pass my jeep driving test until the 7th or 8th time, which by then all my platoon mates were long done with it and lulling for a month in camp while i tried to get my act together. I don't know what driving scares me so much; i get flustered and stuff, can't gauge distance well when i'm inside a car, and always overthink simple road problems and end up deliberating -- and deliberating can get pple killed X( as a result, i've put any thoughts of getting a license away for now.. at least until situation demands it.

Ahhh i was slow with the updates heheh; i only uploaded some of them as of late, after job-hunting impetus kicked in. There's still a bunch of stuff i've yet to show, and thats either cus the assignments are still ongoing or i havent polished them up sufficiently to be proud to showcase them :'> 3d is a lotttt of fun; like all kinds of art, it's easy to get lost in it for hours and burn tons of night hours polishing a piece; but unlike most kinds of art, the learning curve for 3d is very steep. The world of 3d art is very hard to penetrate into for newcomers to the genre, and even harder for newcomers to the industry, because in addition to burning hours honing the artistic and psychomotor skills required to manipulate and manifest art in softwares, there's also an unspoken requirement to be always upping your game, studying new software, functions and tricks in order to stay relevant in a fast-paced industry that's gradually oversaturating with competitive talent. But, well, that's why it's a dream job, i guess! it's worth the fight

haha i didnt know you enjoyed breeding mons..! For me, pkmn was always about the storycrafting with each game, the pkmn universe expands, and with it, the creative fodder for us artists and storytellers to use. i love it!

Sandyghast is coooool omg all the mons are cool! I mean, this is the first time i've ever seen nintendo put their back into researching on how to create mons that draw such neat parallels to real-life examples in biology: the sandshrew and vulpix adapting to environmental changes, the evolutionary arms race btwn pkmn such as the yungoos and rattatas, the dancing birds which are a reference to Darwin's finches leading to darwin's theorization of evolution, etc etc etc. Damn, this is the pkmn game which the richest lore i've ever seen, and nintendo's rly taking great steps out of its comfort zone and breaking conventions. It's awesomeeee!
