Yes, I think it was on my little raffle! There was also another person that entered with a character which was drawn by you if I remember correctly.
This is a very difficult balance - where "sometimes" art takes all of your freetime. I wish you best of luck and succes!  

Mh I am not sure about Devianart. It is usually my way to stalk other artists XD But Galder for example seems to handle Devianart super well.
So it is probably all a lot of work and passion!

So regarding comissions... huge wall of text T-T

I am reworking and adding new comission types that are very soon finished.
(Latest date would be next week.)

I am pretty nervous about them to be honest > . < So I don´t know if it will be worth the wait.
Worked really hard on coming up with new types that are more special/original. And also a bit more costumer based.
Most commisioners seemed to use my drawing mainly for avatar pics so I made a little special regarding that whole theme.

I also went a bit selfish this time and tried to figure out what I love to draw and where I want my drawing skills to be trained much more haha.

Will post the rework first on twitter. I don´t know if I will be able to post it on devianart without premium membership.
The only thing which is going to stay from my old comissions are the detailed avatar ones.
I will probably open 3-2 slots for a test run to see how it is going.

I still haven't decided 100% what will I ask from you so I will adapt to the new options.

There is nothing wrong with bringing options that you feel most like drawing, after all you should do your best to enjoy what you do as much as you can. There's no point in doing something that you don't feel like doing when there are other options ^^

Very true, I am still learning so much.
Sometimes I was only figuring that out during the drawing and it is kinda sad because I want to show equal passion with each drawing.
But I noted everything I noticed down and talked a lot with my boyfriend about it.
And your kind words give me confidence and proove it again, thank you    q.q
Artist to artist talk is very refreshing - always good to hear a second opinion!

Yeah, I really like giving my OCs some background! When I have to draw a character with only a visual reference, especially when it's a screenshot where the personality of the character isn't seen, I always have a hard time to figure out what to do. I think that knowing the character's personality and some background always helps (though I tend to make my background stories too long ahaha)

I am sure that you will succeed with the new options. Your art is really sweet so people will be interested no matter what you offer, and you will feel better doing something that you really want to do.

Yes! so very true. I always kinda try to empathize the characters facial features into a personality. (wow that sounds weird)
But it´s really hard so most of the times I am just "adding it the way I see it fit". Luckily the costumers were always happy with that so far.

What I like about a rich character story the most (in a drawing way) is that it let´s you add tiny little details into your drawing that are very character specific.
And it helps drastically with a personalized pose.
Normally I just go with "mhhh maybe a cute flower in the hair?" or stuff like that because I don´t know what this character would like xD

Same here... I tend to fill the holes of characters I don't know enough with made up information... Sometimes I even figure out if there is any known character that reminds me of them and I take something from other characters to fill the holes. Until now, nobody has complained XD

People do commission us because they want to see our own interpretation and creativity on their character?
At least this would be something that I would look forward to if I commission an artist with my OC.

Personally when I commission other artists, being an artist myself, I expect them to give my characters their unique touch. There will be always slight differences with my own view but that isn't necessarily bad. If I wanted as I would do it, I'd draw it myself! Sometimes I have liked so much a depiction from another artist that I made their version the canonical one xD
I guess it's slightly different with people who aren't artists and want their characters done exactly as they imagine them because we cannot read mimds! But even then some good references and a good descripion work wonders!

Non-artists are really pleased if I can capture their commission request 1:1!
Oh yeees. I just love it if I get detailed description and references.
Saves some work and I feel like I am going to explode with creativity XD

And the first point you talked about is very mhh "pleasing"? xD
I personally like it if people do this kind of personality tests where your partner/friend has to guess and fill it out for you?
Because it is always fun and interesting to see how people visualize diffrent things about you and how they see you in general.
And I think it is compareable with artist to artist commissions? Instead of the person it´s the OC and that even gives you more interpretation freedom.
That´s what I really like! And where I am happy with every stroke I draw <3

That is a good way to put it!

Personally I try to enjoy everything that I do, even if I am drawing something that doesn't seem so appealing to me, I always try to find a way to do it that I end enjoying it,  like bringing it to my field, or taking it as an opportunity to learn something new. The times I didn't feel what I wasam doing ended showing in the final quality.

That is why I rarely take commissions right now. Fortunately I have a full time job and I'd rather select what I really want to do, even if that means making gifts to friends or other unpaid art, and pick up a few selected commissions that really speak to me.

This is a really good way to approach commissions.
And I really think you deserve the freedom to select your commission themes.

It is also amazingly sweet of you to draw gifts! Many people don´t apprecciate all the time and thought you put into the art.
But you will probably select the right people for it!

A really well picked OC! Loved how you drew her magic.

Thanks so much! Only taking part in the contest was already a lot of fun, and all the pieces were amazing, so I never expected to win anything. Winning was just an addition to the great experience it was. Also, I am now friends with the other two winners who are really nice and fun so I believe that they are the real prize here! (The painting that Galder made of my Svala was also amazing anyway ;-D)
