Anyone with the ability to read who has a brain somewhere in that thick skull would know that it was theft.
*I* am an artist INSPIRED by Shen. My style is very similar and I do have characters that she helped me create.
I am alot like KissGravity as I started watching Shen at the same age and found her in the same place and decided "I want to be able to draw like that!" the difference? I made friends with the person behind the pictures and she helped me develop as not just an artist but a person. Shen is one of the most wonderful people anyone could hope to meet and Im not going to sit here and let someone slander her when they have no clue.
What KissGravity did was NOT INSPIRED WORK. What KissGravity did was theft in many ways including Identity theft.

Shen puts her heart and soul into her artwrk and characters, and she helps anyone who asks for it.
If you had bothered to read anything that has been said all Shen wanted was for the stolen artwork to be taken down and never once resorted to name calling.
Oh, and as for the "Kiss wasnt making any money" comment She was trying too, of stolen designs, also found in that journal.
Shen never hounded Kiss, she tried to sort it out in private but KissGravity just kept ignoreing her, going public was the only way to get anything done.
Its people like you who tear truelly good PEOPLE down, how do you feel?

Proof which includes KissGravity herself, writing Shen an email and admitting to stealing from her? Proof which shows that she wanted to copyright and sell things that Shen did? When was that not stealing? What fucked up world do you live in?
What is your name? Your real name? How about I go create an account on here, under YOUR name, tell everyone to call me by your name, redraw all your characters, only changing a couple colors, and telling everyone I did them?
Because that's exactly what KissGravity did to Shen. If that's not stealing in your opinion, read up on some law books.
You don't even sound like you know the situation. You're just passing horrific judgements on someone you've never even talked to. Does it feel good to be so prejudiced? You've prejudged someone without even knowing the whole situation. I bet you feel pretty super awesome about yourself now too.
Shen tried doing this in private. KissGravity is the one who approached Shen first. Shen didn't come looking. Shen emailed KissGravity MULTIPLE TIMES with no response. All Shen wanted was honesty. And NO ONE told KissGravity to take down HER ENTIRE GALLERY.
KissGravity is the one who said she'd taken down "all work that wasn't hers". She took down everything. What's that tell you?
You're the petty one. Shen used to let people trace her work to learn so long as they gave her a little credit. She never threw fits over "pose theft" like half you stuck up artists do on here. She never got after people for "style theft", unlike most of you on here. She drew things for people that they could use to help them learn.
She went out of her way to help people.
And all she ever got in return were people like KissGravity taking everything. Her identity, her designs, her characters, everything. Shen got diagnosed with a disorder, KissGravity magically got it too. Shen got diagnosed with something else, KissGravity magically got it.
You just judged someone without even knowing a SINGLE THING about them. I bet you didn't even read the journal. I bet you won't even read all this. You just wanted to judge someone. That's pathetic. How is what your doing any more high and mighty?
I sincerely hope someone pulls the same shit on you one day, and someone is right there in your face to tear you down for wanting a little honesty and a little truth.
Oh, and for your information, Shen didn't want KissGravity to take everything down and was very upset that this happened. But why should she have to sit by and watch while this child stole her identity and her life?
Maybe if someone actually treated you the way you obviously like treating others, you'd feel differently.
It's truly sick. All you artists freak out over a pose or a style. You'd all kill over that. But when true theft happens, theft that includes trying to be someone else, trying to copyright and make money off someone else, you all ignore the proof and dance around like a bunch of monkey's with your heads up your asses.

I am glad that you have taken down the stolen ideas and apologized to Shen. This has been a great ordeal for her. She put a ton of work into her designs and characters and it hurt her so much to see them taken without credit.
You didn't need to take down the stuff that was yours though. You are a good artist, you just need to use your own ideas.

None of us or even the original artist wanted KissGravity to take down her entire gallery. In fact, almost everyone told her that the work that was hers and not taken, was great and that she had a lot of talent. We were all sad that she made such a bad choice.
And we all tried to handle things in private. The original artist did NOT want to make this public. But KissGravity ignored her emails and ignored the other emails people sent her. Please put yourself in ShenTao's shoes. Would you want someone taking your work and telling everyone it's theirs? Wouldn't you be hurt?
She didn't apologize before it was made public. If she had just taken down the stolen material and apologized, none of this public mess would have happened. We didn't make her ignore us. And almost every single comment posted to her was very polite. No one is going around saying her work sucks. We just wanted her to be honest.
It's important to take responsibility when you do something wrong. You should support KissGravity and help her to improve and help her so that she shouldn't need to take things from other people. But I don't see why you need to insult ShenTao.
KissGravity wasn't the only person deeply hurt by this. I'm sure you wouldn't want your work stolen either. ShenTao doesn't claim to be some art god and she isn't proud that it came to this. She just wanted credit and honesty about what work was really hers. And this was the SECOND time this happened. Not the first.
Doesn't the original artist deserve at least a little of the credit she worked so hard for? Why is she automatically the bad guy? No one made KissGravity steal anything. It was her own bad choice. But NO ONE said to take everything down. Her original work was complimented MANY times.

Stop hiding like a coward. You're 17 years old. You're not a baby. And stop hiding behind your illnesses. Aspergers doesn't make people steal and it doesn't make someone imagine their someone else. Your "pity me" act won't work anymore.
Take down all the work you've stolen. Not just here. Take down the stolen work on the PPT Oekaki, Totem Lands, Photobucket and the Furcadia Art Zone.
And apologize. Apologize without LYING and making up excuses. You known darn well what you've done.

I have not been on my email lately, or on the computer at all, so I haven't seen your messages. Please understand this. I have taken down all offensive artwork on Deviantart, Photobucket, Totemlands, PPTO, and FAZ. If there is somewhere else I missed, tell me and I'll remove it as promptly as I can. (I'm on a lot of sites.)
I will write Shentao an apology letter, if she wants one and I will also make a public apology in my journal. I'm off do do that now.

Stop telling people to shut up. This is the second time it has happened. The original artist caught her two times. She apologized after the first time but did it again. Shen tried to handle this in private and that didn't work.

Are you fimiliar with the artist Terryl Whitlatch. See is a concept designer and was the lead creature designer for the Star Wars movies. You might check out her work i think you can learn a lot from her.
