hey! i'm doing good. my anvil just came in (it's a baby anvil -- only 120 lbs)
how 'bout you? having fun in your classes??

TsuNarulover In reply to KitsuneMith [2012-09-28 00:51:51 +0000 UTC]

Oh cool! Wait how much does a normal anvil weigh? How was Black smithing over the summer?
I'm doing ok. Trying to stay sane between work and school. Ugh math is kicking my bottie with an... well anvil, lol. Just did my first design communications logo in illustrator.

well, anvils can go anywhere from about 20 lbs to over 500 lbs. i just call mine a baby because i can still pick it up and move it without a crane or something -- and the face (flat top part that you hit on) is only about a foot by 3-ish inches, so it's not all that big.
being sane is over-rated ^~^. which math is it? maybe it'll make more sense in a couple of weeks... and i want to see what your logo looks like~!

TsuNarulover In reply to KitsuneMith [2012-10-02 14:53:32 +0000 UTC]

Holy Cow 500 lbs! I can see why you say it's a baby. Lol I suppose being sane is over- rated @_@. The math is 0308. Im going to turn the logo to a pdf or jpg file so i can put on deviant and facebook. So to use a 500 lb anvil you need a crane? What the heck do you use an anvil that heavy for unless you really want to knock the crude out of someone?! You should take a pick of your anvil and place your lil chibi fire element dancing on it. =^_^= that would be cute.

lol. i totally should -- that would be adorable. ^~^ the only reason you'd need an anvil that size would be if you worked with really big stock (metal) or you needed a large working area. most people use anvils around 200-300 lbs. even with anvils this size you might need a crane (or engine hoist) so that you can move it. too bad acme doesn't make anvils anymore...

I think wilee coyote is thankful they don't make anvils anymore . Wow thats some extreme smithing. You should post that pick on deviant :3. So did you make anything over the summer?

KitsuneMith In reply to TsuNarulover [2012-10-07 22:27:25 +0000 UTC]

lol. i'll have to get my camera working ^~^ but yeah. at the class dad and i took, i made a pair of tongs (flat mouthed), a fire rake (a L-shaped "poker" to move the coal and bring in air to the bottom of the fire), a spade ("fireplace" shovel), a scratch-all, a center punch, a borax spoon, and a b-b-q fork. it was a pretty crazy three weeks. so did you have a fun summer as well??

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TsuNarulover In reply to KitsuneMith [2012-10-12 00:46:44 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow sounds like you made a lot of interesting, cool, and use full stuff! All of that in three weeks! I had an ok summer. I had a few grills and bbqs on my grill, yeah we made it work some how. Made great ribs and kebobs as well as burgers.

KitsuneMith In reply to TsuNarulover [2012-10-14 13:26:05 +0000 UTC]

that sounds yummy ^_^ we didn't get to have any bbqs over the summer, but we did grill some stuff when we were camping during the month for blacksmithing. oh yeah! we ordered a gas forge (it uses propane instead of coal or something) and it should be arriving on wednesday.

Oh yes the food was so yummmmy!!!!! Oh cool I bet your very excited!!! So why did you choose gas?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KitsuneMith In reply to TsuNarulover [2012-10-22 00:45:54 +0000 UTC]

yes, yes i am. ^___^ well, for one it was pretty cheap. also, we haven't had time to build the charcoal forge yet (but we are working on it...). the gas is more of a "until-the-other-one-is-built" sorta thing -- although with the gas you can heat to specific temps unlike with a coal forge, and you have better control of where exactly you're heating.

*nods nods* makes sense. And cheap is gooodd. FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to respond so late. Had family come over. wow what breed is ralph?

KitsuneMith In reply to TsuNarulover [2012-12-14 21:11:24 +0000 UTC]

i have no idea what breed he is (probably a mix of several large breeds) -- all i know is that he's huge! ^_^ so, did you have fun with your family?? we went over to my cousin's house for thanksgiving (she lives pretty close to us) ----> it's always entertaining making "lunch" for roughly 40 people =^~^=

Naw I didn't do much other than go to my dads house while he was out of town and new kitten sit, as well as cat sit, since him and my brother had the dogs. Just kinda chilled and stayed home away from crazy shoppers. Stayed in sanctuary 0_0

KitsuneMith In reply to TsuNarulover [2013-04-02 23:25:47 +0000 UTC]

mine was alright. mostly sleeping, catching up on school work, and working on outfits for a-con --> lots of fabric... * eye twitch * but, ya, mine was nice. did you have a good easter weekend?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TsuNarulover In reply to KitsuneMith [2013-04-30 14:10:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it was a pretty nice holiday. And Holy cow how much fabric?! What are you going as? Ugh I want to go back to bed right now. @_@

KitsuneMith In reply to TsuNarulover [2013-05-13 21:33:34 +0000 UTC]

yay~! i graduated! no more class work!!!! let's see.....all in all, my costume will probably have about 15-ish yards of fabric (60 inch wide bolts), plus about half a yard of armor grade leather, and several hundred scales and chain links for the scale-plate armor. plus whatever it takes to make my hat..... probably the scrap pieces. also, i have a fox-fur stole -- i'm going as an original character: the governess of the airship "The Ob V.S. l'E" ...and i have about three weeks to finish all of that and pieces for my dad's costume.... wish me luck!

DANG GIRL!! I hope you got it all done! I'm sorry I didn't get to you earlier!! Congrats on graduating!!! You should post pictures up! I want To see!!

KitsuneMith In reply to TsuNarulover [2013-06-21 03:54:29 +0000 UTC]

thanks! ^_^ yeah, i didn't finish -- but that was fine; i still liked the way things turned out. right now i'm working on a leather gorget and pauldron armor set (neck and shoulder, respectively) -- made to resemble holly leaves/branches. should be interesting. i didn't really take pictures of costumes (me or other people) since those types of pictures are on a-con's website, but i took pictures of the jade and other art work. ^__^ i'll need to post some of those....after i find my camera's cord..... ^_^()

Lol sounds like you had fun. I can't wait to see you pictures! Sorry it has been so long to respond. I'm going to be attending Oni-con this year. A friend of mine says he will get me a pass. I have no clue what I'm going to cosplay as, seeing as it's relatively soon. I do have some old cosplays, But I like doing new ones. I'm thinking of cosplaying as one of my characters. Do you mind sending me that website for where you get your wigs from? I need one that looks gold @_@. How is school going?

KitsuneMith In reply to TsuNarulover [2013-09-17 21:17:05 +0000 UTC]

haha, yeah we had fun -- my camera's being stupid, but i'll try and get you the pictures!!  the website is www.epiccosplay.com  ---> they have amazing wigs!! make sure to check out their "red hot sale!" section -- they might have what you're looking for. well, i graduated at the beginning of summer (yay!), and i'm now looking for a job. went to the job fair at the renaissance, and i'm waiting to hear back from the different vendors i interviewed with. wish me luck! how about you??
