Guess what? After us talking about your cat and mine back and forth, we found an orphaned Calico Persian at an apartment pool. We started to walk off and leave her there because we thought she had an owner. When we were leaving, a lady told us the owner had passed away and people had called animal patrol on the cat and no one had caught her.

In the end, we brought her home. ^_^ She's already declawed, fixed, with happy green eyes and hates to have her fat belly rubbed. XD We're trying to find her a home but I can tell if we don't get rid of her in so much time Mom's going to want to keep her. Wookie does NOT like her and she returns the favor so they'd have to get used to each other.

Aww what are the odds!?
Must be a pretty one too eh? That's so cute! Oh well, Espresso didn't get along with my aunts cat for almost a whole week when i went up state last month, the last day, the day we were going home, they were tapping each other and playing in a box together and i was like "OH!? Now you want to play!?" While we were up there she was very protective of me, didn't like that kitten come to me. Sat on my lap and spitted or when i was asleep and i felt the kitten near me espresso ran from where ever she came from and jumped right in front of me o0 Very protective kitty

She must learn from her dog friends. XD

I didn't let her and Wookie interact but that one time so they could see each other. That would have turned out bad for the visiting cat... Wookie has claws she didn't.

The lady really liked her and said even if her daughter wanted another cat she was going to keep her.

Mmm Espresso gets declawed at the end of this month as well as neutered. My mom said she doesn't want to endure the aggravation of a heated cat, and my dad doesn't want furniture ruined. So I have to give her up for a day ; ; thats gonna be depressing. I spend alot of time with her..
lol Just a moment ago, i was getting out of the kitchen from taking a cold pill (yay a whole week of being sick...) And i didn't realize she was infront of the barrier we put up for the puppy and when i stepped over i almost stepped right on her head XD She jumped and meowed at me like "Watch where you step!" xD I was like "Sorry!" Now i think she went back to sleep some more... That's what she does best...

She'll get over it. XD I accidentally closed the front door on Wookie's tail a long while ago and she just sat there with her usual look on her face meowed a bit like she was going ow... ow... ow... OW! Then I realized it was on her tail. XD That was funny.

lol! That's what i love about persians, they talk ALOT. They always voice their oppinons. Like this morning, apparently we ran out of her canned food and we gave her biscuit things for the time being till the store opened. No, the first thing she does when i get up is "MEOW!!!" follows me to the bathroom "MEOW!" follows me to the living room where im trying to wake up "MEOW!" And im like "We don't have any!" xDD she's so danty.. so finally we got her canned food, different kind and i dont know if she was playing in her water bowl again, because when i got home from a flee market i found her food bowl filled with water with still some food in it -__-

My cat does the same thing. Like when she runs out of water or food or doesn't like the condition of her litterbox.

Kitty2006 In reply to froger-dog [2009-07-11 19:30:33 +0000 UTC]

my cat refuses to use the litter box if its too dirty for her. She will sit there and watch me clean it out, wait till i take the bag outside before she jumps in, pushes the litter around a bit and finally goes. When she was only 2 month old she layed in it for the first three days till i pushed her butt down to show that she has to go in there. >< Thank god it only took a week lol

froger-dog In reply to Kitty2006 [2009-07-11 21:34:44 +0000 UTC]

Wookie pretty much already had the hang of litter boxes when we got her because the man that had her and her sisters at his apartment already gave them a litter box and trained them.

Kitty2006 In reply to froger-dog [2009-07-11 21:47:05 +0000 UTC]

Well she was litter box trained... but at the store they used that expensive stuff.. the fluffy plush thingy oo and my dad was like "Hell no were not using that on her" so we got her litter trained i suppose you could say o 3o. And now if you go in the bathroom before her and she needs to go ( i seriously think she waits till the last minute..) She will sit infront of the bathroom door and wait... if you take long, she sticks her paw under the door and flails x3 like "Hurry up!"

froger-dog In reply to Kitty2006 [2009-07-11 21:49:52 +0000 UTC]

You could ask if you could move the litter box to where she can always get to it. Wookie's is in my room.

Kitty2006 In reply to froger-dog [2009-07-11 21:51:54 +0000 UTC]

can't put it in my room, my sister has her dog in there and he goes blastic when he sees her walk past -_- so its in the bathroom, we just leave the door open for her and sometimes she comes in when we go in. Usually she nuzzles me when im trying to go ><

lol sometimes I throw something at Wookie and she'll squeeze back under the door... of course your cat can't fit under yours I guess...

Kitty2006 In reply to froger-dog [2009-07-11 21:57:48 +0000 UTC]

Nah, she can't even fit in the two holes under the kitchen cabniet anymore, i guess because she cant arch her back to get in. and she has slight difficulty getting under the recliner..

froger-dog In reply to Kitty2006 [2009-07-11 22:06:11 +0000 UTC]

She's going to be a good lap cat. ^_^ She'll keep your whole legs warm.

Wookie's a pain... she didn't let me finish getting all of the fur she's shedding off her right side. >_> I'm tired of hair getting everywhere. I woke up this morning with my whole shirt covered in it.

Kitty2006 In reply to froger-dog [2009-07-11 23:49:43 +0000 UTC]

Meh Espresso is still not used to the comb so when i pet her, i try to pluck out loose hair.. >.< It's so hard to keep up with these type of cats, and she has a hissy fit with the comb...

lol why thank you o 3o
I find hair everywhere lately, must be shedding so i think i should get that pledge thing for pet hair. You know the little rolly thingy on that commerical with the woman, the white couch and those black cats... yeah o 3o

froger-dog In reply to Kitty2006 [2009-07-12 18:16:15 +0000 UTC]

Kitty2006 In reply to froger-dog [2009-07-12 18:39:44 +0000 UTC]

mm its kinda like a plastic thing, it acts like a lint roller but it keeps all the hair in a little container and then you just dump it into the trash o 3o pretty niffty looking thing, its from pledge.

I don't know how good it is though, but im sure you can find it among the cleaning supplies in the stores or the pet area since its made for animal hair.

xD We got espresso this little cube metal thingy... mabob. And she only uses it when its in my mothers room. But she uses the cat tower in the dinning room to hide from the dog xD

froger-dog In reply to Kitty2006 [2009-07-14 17:07:48 +0000 UTC]

Wookie hides behind the couch so I'd rather not spend $100 on a cat tower. XD I saw one for that much. That's just like a cat bed... it'd be pointless.

Mom didn't let me put Wookie's tag on her. If she's going to be an outside cat that'd be a good idea.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kitty2006 In reply to froger-dog [2009-07-17 13:18:35 +0000 UTC]

She's not gonna be an outside cat but just incase she runs out. She likes to go near the door everytime someone goes out. I blame my mother for taking her outside with her and sitting on the porch. I dont want her to get used to the outside or else she will start thinking she's aloud to go out. Im afraid that if she does runaway i wont be able to find her, or she gets killed or someone steals her since she's a persian.

We think someone stole our Manx named Minxie when he left one day. T_T He was so pretty and so young. D:

I'm scared to put kittens outside ever since my cat Socks ran off on his first day out. He was the runt and just a baby. That's the only time that'd ever happened though... and I think the lady down the street had called Animal Patrol on the stray cats in the area so maybe that's what happened.

Whiskers was kept in our neighbor's house for weeks and when we found out I was mad on the inside but at least they gave her back. Still that made me really angry because we thought she was dead.

Wookie is well trained after all of those experiences and is kept inside. Even if she does stray outside she freaks out knowing she's in trouble for going onto the porch and flees back inside. When she was a kitten the backdoor had been left open and she'd gone out. Debbie shut the door giving her no thought and Wookie got caught in a thunderstorm and fled under the porch. All I did was call her name and she came out for me to carry her back inside. So she's scared to go outside.

Most cats when they have a bad experience tend not to do so ever again. My old cat Harry never really liked going out. He might poke his head out or lay on the porch in the sun but never went any further, never went to the steps to the grass. And if something freaked him out he would dash back inside like a rocket.

He passed away in late march. He had bladder stones and we didn't have the money to get him fixed so we had to put him down because he was just out of it, bloody urine everywhere on appartment floors. He was only six years old too. Would have been seven next month

Aw. Poor kitty. At least he had a painless death instead of going through all that.

Some scientist needs to figure out how to extend cat's life spans like ours.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kitty2006 In reply to froger-dog [2009-07-18 13:38:00 +0000 UTC]

Most cats live up to 20 years when they are indoor type cats and also have been spayed/neutred.
But i think what happened to my cat was him eating these biscuits all his life, I think they were Friskies and he ate those, he never liked cat food. And i think eating all that made a stone in his bladder. it was the size of a golf ball according to the xray

Kitty2006 In reply to froger-dog [2009-07-19 00:53:02 +0000 UTC]

yeah just keep switching up her diet every so often.
For espresso now, i do a bowl of can food morning and night and the rest of the day she has the kibbles to nibble on. For cat treats i got the soft chewy kind.
