I ended up not going cause my Grandma didn't have the money for a ticket. I worked all "summer". I call it a summer but I didn't actually get one, I've been in school the whole time. My only sort of break is this week. I flippin' love Church. And there's a cute guy at my church ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) but seriously I love Church. I'm glad you enjoy it, too! I'm finishing up a book called "Boundaries" if you've read it?

You know, I absolutely adore fanfiction. But I think my problem is that I can't seem to find anything worth reading? There are those few gems that make it all worth it, but then 99% of what I find is just pure unoriginal, repetitive mess. And it's kinda just gotten so old, having to search and search for that one story that's gold.

Of course, it might have a lot to do with the fandom, too. Harry Potter fanfiction (really the only other fandom I read for) tends to have more gold in the dirt, but Hetalia...

Yeah, totally. I drop fanfiction so quickly sometimes, it's not even funny. I could probably list out all the cliches and overused plots and what pisses me off the most is how people will keep the original anime/manga/book/etc. plot and just add an OC. Like the dialogue will be the same and just WHY??????

DUDE THAT IS THE WORST. I mean, fanfiction is a genre of imagination -- a freedom to build off of a foundation already laid down with fully developed characters and a world of opportunity. WHY WOULD YOU WASTE THAT? If I had the opportunity, I would gladly rant about all of the cliches and "DON'T THIS"'s and wasted potential out there. Fanfiction has the ability to be amazing or downright stupid.

Um yes?? HP was my first fandom ever and the one I will be in until the day I die. I will never not tell people to read it. I mean it's just... *cries* And the fandom is usually amazing and most everyone gets along. And I have fanfiction I read way back in 2010 before I even knew what a fandom was or shipping or even the term fanfiction (and before I even started writing) that I still love simply because of the plots even if the writing is like yuck.

I feel like anime fandoms always have so much crap in them that you have to dig through. Almost as if people don't take them seriously. But then things like PJO and HP are just as seen as gold all around the world, so fans tend to be more careful with what they produce. Sometimes.

Definitely! By coping everything, it's basically not even an original story anymore. I guess that's why it's so hard to find good fanfics sometimes - everyone is getting lazy and they don't bother being creative anymore. For some reason, though, the cliche stories always end up really popular, so more people write stuff like that because they think it'll get them reviews or something. And it works. =/

Yeah, HP was like the gateway to books and reading for a lot of people in our generations. I regret not picking up the books when I was younger so much because now I'll never have that nostalgia factor linked with it, like everyone else. When I have time, I still plan to read it though, because it's about time I joined that fandom.

I wish people had that mindset for all fandoms. The fanfiction world would be a much better place. For anime, it's probably because a lot of younger kids watch it and try to write things, which is good, but I mean the stuff I wrote back then sucked too. Whereas for books, lots of people don't like reading so I guess all the better writers are there? I dunno.
